I use it and it's free. It can be helpful in some situations.

Well why does it ask for a credit card?

Ahh. Dunno. Maybe it is a pay service now - but it wasn't when I registered, and I still use it.

The last time I tried pick-a-prof it costed money so I said screw it. www.thiscampus.net used to be really good, too, then they closed.

I always get a good chuckle out of these websites, especially rating the hotness total. I was able to find a few colleagues on there and some were right on and others were way off base. So be careful with how you use this information when registering for classes. Beware of student X that feels wronged because they didn't get the grade they thought they deserved, instead they got the grade they earned. These people tend to make it their personal mission to point out how inept the professor was and they can't see how anyone could learn anything from them. Then in the very next student review some else says that this prof was the best they ever had. Anyways, thanks again for the good laugh.

It sure does. What always amuses me about this type of situation is the mentality that some college students and their parents have that they beleive as paying customers their sons and daughters are entitled to passing grades and a degree. Regardless of whether Junior actually showed up to class and did the required work. They are paying the almighty dollar for Junior to get a degree. When in fact students are paying for the opportunity to get an education, not for an education. Sorry, that's enough on this issue. I'm having a soapbox kind of morning.

I would tell my students I would not make them do a single thing they did not want to do. But if they did not do what I expected them to do, it would have a negative impact on their grade. Ultimately it was their decision as to whether or not they wanted to do the work.

You know you've logged on there just to check out your own 'hotness' score to see what the kids are rating you, UK!! haha

Honestly, I was a bit curious that way I could use the score as a joke to bring to my wife's attention. Assuming that my hotness score would have been a good one of course. :D But alas no one has rated me for any of the classes I have taught at BG, UK or KSU..
