you freeloading SOB. You were doing good for a bit, actually contributing. But now you're back to your five word posts, digging up stuff from three days ago that is about as relevant as whether I put my right sock on first or my left. Suggestions are one thing, but backhanded compliments to a website that someone (namely ME) put alot of effort into compiling, and while its hit a slow stretch, will continue to put MORE effort into compiling is complete crap. And coming onto an awesome website like AZZ and saying "we need this, we need that, because something isn't good enough" is equally crap-filled. If you had one ounce of ANYTHING in that little pea brain of yours, you would find that even a post that said "Could someone tell me more about the 1992 football team? I read something about them and they were awesome", you'd have dozens of people chiming in with facts, figures and memories of that season. and if they didn't then maybe its time to dig up some research on your own. You have "so much time on your hands", go find a library, or Google around. Its out there, I know it, because I've found it. You know, for that "okay" bgsusports.com. Until your sorry ass is ready to take on a project to help enrich the history, fan base, or just general knowledge of the university, or of anything, you really need to watch your step. I know you're just trying to suggest something, and others have pointed out (rather quickly and in great volume) how that suggestion isn't really necessary, but I take your comment about my site quite personally. So wise up, or step off.

Eh, maybe I should have shown some restraint, but to hell with it. We've all had thoughts of "I wonder if there's a way we could do this, or find that", but to semi-vehemently demand it (is there a word that means "semi-vehemently"? I'm not sure...) and give a list of "yeah, buts", then give a slap to the face of someone he doesn't even know that has spent time, effort and a little cash on contributing to the fan base is just wrong. As I said, until sometime yesterday evening, I was almost starting to give the kid credit. Not anymore, or ever again.

Never trust a Tribe or Cavs fan!!
I like this idea, it would be fun. Or maybe a top 10 most disliked posters on the board. ...Wait nevermind I don't want to end up on that.bgsufan1972 wrote:I been waiting too, and I am in Pheonix. I think AZZ should setup a system like survivor. Once a week we vote someone of the site? What do you all think.
TG, You have every right to be mad. Whether your site was the worst site on the net or the best a BG fan should never be ripping it. What you offered is a complete sacrafice of your own time and $$. I salute you and everyone else who tries to get the BG name out there. Personally I know I have learned some things there I did not know. I know I never went there expecting the enclyclopedia britanica like some people.

I have to agree with Golfer on this. It's is just okay.
*As far as proving information on the thousands of different spelling of Mark Szlachcic's name, it's just okay.
*As far as providing information on whether Fran Vol hand washed his sweater vests, it's just okay.
*As far as providing the ACTUAL definition of khaki, it's just okay (there's some old Jay Jackson band humor in there.)
*As far as explaining the whole mystic with Curling, it's just okay.
Tell me, did Jackie Motycka shave or wax? Can't tell me? Then it's JUST OKAY!
It gives us a great 'big picture' but I want the meaningless details man!

All I'm saying is that it could be better; granted it's still a pretty young site. Why i say this is because I've been to other college sports board/forums/fan pages, etc. and they've had encyclopedias full of pictures, info, sound bytes and other things about their team. I just think it could be better. Look at joshharris.com...it's still new, but it's got a lot of interesting facts, pictures and information pertaining to JH. That's how bgsusports.com should run. In my personal opinion it could be better.

Puppy, those other sites probably have been up and running for quite some time. Those other sites probably have contributions from the university archives. Those other sites are probably from universities which have have more comprehensive coverage in most media outlets.golfertk14 wrote:All I'm saying is that it could be better; granted it's still a pretty young site. it's okay to have an opinion and it equally nice of you to start back peddling from your initial flippant retort. Instead of just saying, "it could be better" contribute something. Help out.
Tony's site is awesome. I was a undergrad from 87-93 (decade program - graduated early). I learned something about the teams from that time era and i considered myself "in the know."
