Embedding pictures into posts is a total mystery to me. Can someone explain the process so I may better enjoy posting?

Are you trying it with pics from a URL, or ones from your local machine?

The latter, I can't help you with, but from a URL, just click the "Img" button above, then paste the URL of the pic, then click the "Img" button again.

Done.

I upload mine into my photobucket account. They actually provide the bbcode right under the picture so I can put it in a post simply by copy and paste.

As far as I know, you have to upload it to an image server somewhere to use it.
