Man. It would be great to have two 6'9" freshman. Gotta figure, at a minimum, one would develop into a solid center, with the other being a servicable backup. With Marschall, that would take care of the 4 and 5 for a few years.

(if we can avoid transfers, injuries, "off the court" problems, floods, locusts...)

In light of the Wilson situation, I sure hope we can land this kid from Kentucky then. With our thin front line, he could really help us there.

TS,

Not positive about this, but basketball players are held to a different standard than are FB players... I can recall, not specific names, but players who got redshirts because they only played in a few NON-Conf. games.... just not sure that playing in 3 games eliminates this kid from a RS possibility....especially since he's leaving the team under such sad circumstances.

Only for medical issues. Basketball players are allowed to shut it down if they play under a certain % of the teams games if they get hurt, and take a medical redshirt. They are not allowed to play 5 games and then have the coach decide that he wants to redshirt them for non-medical reasons.

It's irrelevant now anyways.

There are not many basketball or football players that do not have plenty of documented injuries over the course of a season, that can often lead to a redshirt, IF the timing is right.

Didn't we use our last scholarship on the transfer?

When this thread first came up I did some looking and I couldn't find anything on this kid anyway. Not sure how high of a profile recruit this would be...tough to find info on the lower profile guys.
