Who is this DannyK clown... Everytime I come on here and read posts by him it is always negative towards the team... For chrissakes buddy nobody on the team goes out on a Friday night especially when there is a game the next day. There are 72 hour rules where no bars and no alcohol are to be consumed 72 hours prior to a game. Give your head a shake buddy...

I made a comment about Minnesota and what Dakich and Brandon apply for team rules. Im not suggesting nationwide prohibition, i was just commenting that boozing and underage drinking may be under the microscope a bit more in hockey than other NCAA sports dependning on what happens in Minnesota.

I think football players might be able to go out a bit in the offeseason but their 6 am workouts put a damper on that. If we want to be an elite program like michigan, BC, and most of the WCHA, some of the off ice stuff needs to at least be kept under control.
Really... Oh that's weird I thought you said that it occasionally happens that the players are out after a friday night win. Wow for real buddy, just leave this site now and never come back. I really wish I could just reach through the internet and smack some sense into you.

If Pooch has everything under control thats great. No reason to get hyped up, a few good weeks of practice and some wins out east and we will have momentum to get back in the thick of things for home ice.

An 18 year old is old enough to vote, fight, be sue, killed in the chair for crimes and by god drink in my eyes. Should the youth of today put out a vote to lower the drinking age back to 18 I would sign, support and then vote for it. i hope some one has the gumption to start up a petition.
Why don't you get right out there and start that petition? I'm sure you'd get a lot of 18-20 year olds to sign it. Anybody else who would sign this probably makes their living selling alcohol or as a mortician. If you'd like any background or facts, you might want to check out this link

Funny, but that was EXACTLY the same thought I had TG. Great minds think alike, huh? I can distinctly remember being at Brathaus on several occasions with players I knew & recruits. What's funny is some of them actually came to BG to play. I'm a good recruiter if you can believe it or not!

this is also why i am supporting raising the driving age to 18. Parents should not be held liable for the actions of thier children when not supervieed...old enough to drive, old enough to die, old enough to drink and vote. i also support mandatory practicle driving test for all persons annually over the age of 65 and license termination at age 80 to old to slow a hazard ( you read the stats on that one to, and that the responsibilty to take a license (and again the liability) should rest squarly on the shoulders of the state.

I look to our European friends about drinking..no ages few problems big laws and penalties.

Actually Europe is starting to have big problems with youths and drinking. Their one saving grace is that few youths drive due to the superb mass transit system. Of course in many countries alcohol is also very expensive and even under more government control. Their numbers of binge drinkers are growing. Probably don't even need to get into the plethora of scientific evidence showing the affects of alcohol on the developing brain, of which an 18yr old is still considered developing (hence why schizophrenia is linked with distrubtion of brain re-orgainization and doesn't usually arise until the early to mid 20's).

You are a mixed bag of ideas that is for sure. You want the state to take individual drivers licenses away based soley on age, with out even considering the fact that as society advances the ability to maintain physical functions is increasing with age. (a drivers test is, in my opinion, valid) For example, the vast number of our "leaders" are 60+ and many in excellent health. As people increase their awarness of health, fitness and modern medicine our general life span and functional life spand are definitely increasing.

Then there is your "People bill of Rights" link in which Article VIII states that we shouldn't use the military to police and over-throw other "dangerous" governments/countries, yet you support a war in which that is exactly what did and are doing. Can't have it both ways and as the evidence is increasingly showing the Iraq situation is exactly that.

Iraq is right on track and moving along very, very well. We could not be doing our work there any better.
As for the link, i did not agree with all of it, as most people dont agree with everything they see value in. just some of it.

What about Germany though? I mean they are beer and yet they only have a bronze medal in 1932 in ice hockey. I see this being a problem in this otherwise intriguing theory. I may just have to drink a beer while contemplating what this means to your theory.

Okay so Germany is a good counterexample.....and while were are shooting down my sweet idea.....Ireland and Scotland have damn good whiskey but dont know what hockey is!

All I can say is that every theory has counterexamples and all I can do is grab a bottle of Finlandia and drink my dissapointment away....then go play hockey!

Just so you all know....the river is now frozen....which means HOCKEY time!!
