The Streak is over
Re: The Streak is over
Just happy that we finally got a win. The play sounded sloppy, and it sounded like an off-night for a few of our guys offensively, but without being able to see the game and only able to listen to it, Troy shot the ball very poorly and I don't know if it was because of good BG defense, or bad Troy offense. I hope it was because of the defense, but Troy's coach just said they missed a lot of wide open looks. Also, after the FSU game and down the stretch in this one, sounds like we're going to have to really practice our free throws.BGfan01 wrote:Falcons snap the losing streak with a win over Troy.

But I'm just going to enjoy the win, it's been a month since our last one and only five minutes since we sealed this win. In all, a good trip to Alabama to go 1-1, getting a win over Troy and playing FSU pretty tough. Should make for a nice trip home.
GO BG!!!
I agree with a lot of what 33 said. I think our D was more of a factor than their coach let on. The announcers wouldn't stop talking about how great our defense was. I was also really impressed that we won without Samarco doing much of anything. He did hit a big foul line jumper in the final 2 minutes when the game was very much in doubt, though. Marschall and Lefeld sounded really good and active in the first half. Don't know whether they got tired/more injured or if Troy focused more on them, but we didn't get much out of them in the second half. Floyd hit some big shots and led us in scoring if I recall. It was nice to hear some shots go down for Dusan also.
I don't know the final number, but it seemed like we had quite a few unforced turnovers. It didn't seem like we ever got into terrible foul trouble tonight, which is a nice change of pace. We are certainly going to need to hit our free throws. We aren't good enough to win games when we don't do the little things. I am pretty confident that this area will improve throughout the year.
