And earlier this season, BG over Virginia Tech and EMU over Cal. Not too bad.

And don't forget that big win over Urbana or the Rockets thrashing Ferris State! Good luck with Notre Dame-that would be a HUGE win for the MAC. :D

The best two wins this season IMO have been the BG and EMU wins. Two of the supposed worst teams in the league have won big OOC games for the MAC. That shows the incredible depth in the MAC this year. I don't think there are any "gimme" games for anybody this year.

Even the "important" leagues have weak teams -- The MAC needs to beat more of them than it does if it wants to gain stature. Onward.

I wouldn't say the Rockets "thrashed" Ferris State....they won by 11.

Unless Ohio can beat Kentucky next week, I'll bet BG's win over Virginia Tech will look like the biggest win for the MAC at the end of the year and will be a bigger win than the ones's against Cal, KSU and MSU.

Akron is playing Clemson in... whatever tournament they are in now (San Jaun?). That could be hudge as well.

Akron lost a close one to Clemson, 66-59.

I'm less confident that OU will beat KY or even be close in this game. The cats have found some new spirit with R. Morris and his found "miracle fax" allowing him to play starting in Jan. KY played like a new team last Saturday. Rondo has been given a true leadership role and seems to fit him well. I wouldn't mind going to that game, but last time I saw tickets were more expensive than a game at Rupp. I think BG's win over VT will end up being the biggest this year too.

Yeah, I might have to agree with you that UK will probably beat OU, but, that's why they play the game. After watching UK against IU, I was ready to put my money on OU. But after seeing UK respond against Louisville and seeing Cincy rough up OU, my thoughts have changed a little bit. I think UK will beat OU, but as Lee Corso would say, "it'll be closer than the experts think." I would usually pull for OU in game like this, but my fiancee would kill me if I rooted against her Wildcats. I'm only allowed to do that if it's BG. :) We were also thinking about going down to the game, but like you said, tickets prices were pretty high for a neutral court game and the seats we found available weren't very good. So instead, we'll watch it on TV.

The last meeting between the bucktooths and Falcons was in 88-89. In that game, before a sold out Rupp Arena, our very own Derrell McLane ran circles around silly Sean Sutton to lead the Falcons to a W. That was fun.

Then we followed it up with an 80-51 loss to Arkansas State the next day. Talk about going from an extreme high to an extreme low - overnight! It's kind of like this year, beating Virginia Tech on their home court and then getting blown out by Radford. :?
