What is your point? Brandon, by HIS OWN ADMISSION, has had some mediocre recruiting classes. This year, he is doing better. I looked at the above posts in this thread and it seems you have misinterpreted them. I don't see anyone proclaiming Brandon a hero.

Funniest thing was that I was just mentioning to a friend that I was surprised that Brown hadn't been getting many/any offers..... then the PD announcement that he was headed for BG...so another surprise!

Hopefully, the academic "issues" alluded to earlier aren't things that would make him a non-qualifier..... as to moving him to safety, the article was remarkably similar to the PJ Mahone article...praising his talents as a RB, then mentioning the fact that he'll probably play safety....With Macon, Thomas, and the La. RS freshman at RB, it makes sense to put these kids where they can help the most....just don't "mortgage the farm" on kids with major grade problems...hopefully, that's not the case here, because this kid is a solid RB who I've seen perform.

Just to clarify...Brandon has stated he had a problem with his first class due to time constraints and that Urbie's first class faced a similar set of challenges. I think if you were to ask the coaches about the last two classes, you would find that they are more than happy.

I think they'll be happy with this one too...

My impressions of what Brandon said and has said previously are that the program was hurt by the issues I outlined. I have not heard him voice any criticisms of the class he recruited last year or the year before.

I do not think Brandon expects, nor do I think we should expect, freshmen and redshirt freshmen to step in as suitable replacements for the guys who would normally be there as upperclassmen.

There was nothing wrong with Urbie's first class.

25% of them washed out of the program within a year.

Flip, that's not unheard of. But let's look at the class itself. If either of Brandon's last two classes has players of this caliber, I'll beat a bug.

Non Wash outs:
T.J. Carswell
Crumpler
Culp
Fry
Hawkins
Lane
Lett
Magner
McGrady
Newson
Nicholson
Sayles
Sharon
Thaler
Warren

Wash outs:
Ronald Bailey
Darius Blackmon
Jamal Bryant
Marlon Burt
Jeff Wailand
Mitch Crossley

I think losing six out of 21 is a bit high...it's actually closer to 30% than 25%.

I guess we'll know in two or three years how well Brandon's classes stack up against Meyer's. From his second class, I think Briggs and Partridge are clearly very good players already and Marques Parks, Mack, Turner, Haneline, Davis and Dozier have potential to be very good players. Last year's class had Thomas, Smith, Ruiz and Lewis all seeing time and playing well.

Dude on second thought, I think you should eat a bug....

He said he would "beat" a bug. Call it morbid curiosity, but I would actually pay admission to see THAT.

I actually meant to say Eat...anyway. When Corey Partridge and Marques Parks do what Cole Magner and Charles Sharon did, then I'll believe what you say. In the meantime, I just think Meyer's first class was remarkable.

Steve Sanders and two jucos's, Joe Gutierrez and Luis Llamas, were also in that recruiting class. I'd hardly consider Crossley a washout. He did start for three years until he decided to stop going to class.

I put Crossley in the "wash out" category to be conservative, because the rest of the class doesn't need any help at all to prove my point.
