Sure would be nice if Big 10 would lose all their bowl games

Discussion of the Falcon football team.

Auburn actually gave up more total yards to Wisconsin than BG did. I'm feeling better about our defense all the time.

That is a good feeling to know that we played those guys better than the number 8 team in the country. You know what pisses me off more than anything is how no mention of us ever surfaced.

Go Buckeyes!!!

I'm not an O$U fan, but I'd love to see them win this one. Go Ohio football!

Ohio Football:
Toledo > UTEP
OSU > Notre Dame?
Mount Union > the rest of D-III
Akron < Memphis
UT is listed in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili as one of the U.S. schools with the “Most Beautiful Urban Campus.”

OSU 34
ND 20

Looks like AJ Hawk wins the matchup with his gf's brother. It might not be very much fun to play these guys next season. Yet another early test for our D.

How is a game during the 2nd week of October an "early" test?

And that defense is going to look very different without those linebackers.

If Omar comes back, I think we can [corso] make it closer than the experts think [/corso]

If we can play them to within 3 TDs it will be a small miracle. If Troy Smith keeps his head on his shoulders and doesn't get himself suspended that OSU offense can put up points and fast.

OSU's secondary is very bad, but their stellar front 7 made up for that all season. They lose 5 of the starting 7, but on the DL they already go 8 deep so those guys have plenty of experience. They've got a true frosh who filled in for Carpenter and looked pretty good the last 2 games. They also get D'Andrea back healthy after he was out all this year. They won't be as good as this year's group, but by the time we play them I'll bet they will have gelled into a pretty good defense.

I'm not real optimisic on our team next year, especially not against that OSU squad...

I completely agree with the above assessment. I hate OSU as much as anybody on this board, but I can admit that they had a really good football team this year and they will be really good again next year. Nobody mentions Troy Smith with the other juniors like Quinn, Young, Leak, Vick, or Jacobs, but he has greatly improved and may end up as a Heisman winner/high draft pick before it's all said and done. He makes a ridiculous number of big runs on third down and uses his legs so well to buy extra time. I wish Omar had the instincts of Smith when it comes to taking off and running for a first down.

Probably Antonio Smith. Ginn is easily shut down if you can keep him from beating you off the line.

Yes, I noticed how easily it was done today. We don't have anywhere near the speed to play with that team.

Are you kidding? The defenders were playing 5 yards off the ball against him. But if you'd like to just shoot yourself now instead of actually wait 9 months feel free to do so.

I honestly think it's way too early for us to be saying we have "no shot" against teams when we don't even start the season for another 8 months. I'm just excited to see how Turner answers the call if Omar leaves, and how the players will step up to fill some big shoes.

But, if you already want to write off the season, it's your right.
