I am very excited about getting over to BG this weekend. I just reserved my room.
I'm jealous.... I hate you

The Tech Family needs to plan another hockey weekend. The new Hampton is a great place to stay - free high speed, indoor pool, breakfast.

Bring'em luck RUIT.

When I'm on the companies dime, however, I stay at Hampton/Hilton's solely.

They looked even more impressive in person. Colgate never really put on any pressure until the third. Colgate's first powerplay was pretty impressive, however. Very quick puck movement and good passes, but our guys forced everything to the outside. All of Colgate's shots came from the perimeter. Not only an awesome display of TEAM defense tonight, but a pretty good offensive show too. Great to see Barnett finally get a goal. He worked his butt off all night.

AWESOME WIN!!!

Fantastic game from end to end, a full 60 minutes!! Congrats to Horrell for another great game and a SO!!!

Way to go guys!! Now it's time for a little buckeye PAYBACK!!!!

PS: One more thing...BJ Adams was at the game tonight!! It was great to see him again. He's playing for the Storm right now and finally had a night off where we played and they didn't!! Good to see him again!!!

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEEEEEEEEP DUH NUTZ!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

That's who that was. I saw him talking to Buddy Powers during the third period and knew he was a former player, just couldn't put a name with a face.

This was an A+ win against a solid opponent. I beleive it was the best 60 minutes of hockey we've seen this year...and it was a TOTAL team effort.
Four different goal scorers, three different lines involved in the scoring... and MOST encouraging solid team DEFENSE. Horrell looked real sharp, and I was impressed with his poise and decision making...he directed rebounds away from the play when he could, covered up when he needed to, and knew when to do which. The only time a rebound came out front his defensemen (Nesdill, I beleive) was right on top of it. The defensemen kept traffic away from the center, and the forwards kept up on their backchecking assignments.

When I say TOTAL team effort, I mean TOTAL...even the guys who didn't play in this game are to be congratulated, because this type of improvement is a result of hard work in practice.

This was definately the absolute best effort I have seen this team put forth this season on both sides of the ice. Colgate could get very little going at any time during the game. Even when it looked like they were going to get in alone on Horrell we got a player back and knocked the puck off their stick. This was Falcon hockey at its finest and what we knew this team was capable of if they just got their heads put into the right mind set. A TOTAL team effort. Their sticks were constantly moving and disrupting Colgates play. I saw more poke checks last night on the ice than I've seen all season.

Great Job Guys!

Now CRUSH the poisonous nuts!

Excellent effort!!! I was able to keep up on the score with CSTV. I love that channel. NOTHING but college sports ALL the time. I knew better than to try and get the WBGU feed. It hasn't worked for me all year. :x

I simply cannot wait to get up there Saturday to see the icers kick the Bucks' azz!!!!

Those of you that know....FF, BGFan and others. What seems to be the spark these days? It seems like Horrell is playing lights out in the net and we are scoring tons of goals but what is different than the first half of the season?

At any rate, it is so great to see BG doing well now.

GO HOCKEY!!!! CRUSH THE BUCKS!!

From what I can tell the leaders have finally stepped up and said enough is enough. We know that we're better than this so lets play hockey the way that we know we can! At least that's what it seems like to me because the attitude on the ice is all business.

John Horrell has also stepped up as the number 1 goalie and is playing lights out, but, at the same time, the defense is doing a great job in limiting the number of grade A chances and clearing the few rebounds that John allows. Like I said, last night was a total team effort. Everyone on the ice was playing at their best and it all starts at the top!

"Every other night, we have a different goalie in there," said sophomore center Jonathan Matsumoto, "but him stepping up and showing that he can be the number-one guy, I think that speaks a lot for him."
From here.

Makes it sound like we are going to be seeing a lot more of Horrell during the second half. And we should, he's definately proved he deserves it. Spratt will get his turn. He has a lot of time left in his career. It's Horrell's time now.

i do not see how this team is 8-11-1. i know goals against are hurting, but horrell seems to be shoring that up and the offense keeps clicking. i'd love to see you guys sweep osu, though a split is probably more realistic. osu is starting to play better, but they can't score.

Poor defensive play early on coupled with hot and cold goalies pretty much spells it out. Horrell seems to have made a statement for himself since the MSU series and has, thus far, emerged as the top goalie. If we keep playing this way we could be in store for a fun second half of the season with two players who are on target to score 55 to 60 points.

This weekend will definately be a huge indicator of how far this team has come since early December.

Its bout time we put a nice win steak together , need to keep it up though. Not much room for error anymore. If we can play like this all the time we can beat OSU finally.

Give the Hampton a call and mention you want the Hockey discount. It is better than a AAA discount. We got our room - 2 king size beds for $79.00 a night.
