Random Thoughts From the CMU game
The first 10 minutes of that game were an absolute embarrassment to the game of basketball. I cannot remember seeing so many travels called in one game yet I also remember the refs letting them get away with about 3 or 4 additional moves that should have been whistled for traveling.
I also found out from the bad ref that the shot clock no longer resets on a kicked ball situation. It was that one older ref who barked it at me after I was pleading for a reset. I find with MAC games there is always one official that makes consistantly bad calls. THe other two last night (the Whoville guy and the older looking Bob Huggins - both of which do Big 10 games) were decent. Sure they made some weird calls but not at the rate of the older guy.
The PA guy now calls Moon Moon instead of Perrick. . . but he still seems to put the emphasis on University when announcing Bowling Green State University and he also adds an extra sylable to the word Realty. If you are reading this PA guy the word is REAL-TEA. Two sylables. Newlove REAL-TEE or Real-tea, not Real-uh-tee.
Dance team new unis- yikes.
SOmething else random I noticed last night was the two large MAC Championship banners for the Men and the Women. Each have 6 championship years listed but the mens banner is set up to have three columns while the womens has two columns. I can see the women filling theirs up before the men so I am not sure why they spaced them differently.
Ok enough for now. . .
EDIT- Oh yeah, and when you think things are bad around Anderson Arena with our program just be glad you aren't a fan of CMU. Talk about an NCAA bound very proud program that has regressed quicker than Austin Montgomery back to Indiana.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Glad someone else commented first. But some of those girls could stand to lose a few pounds. And a visit to the tanning both once in a while wouldn't hurt either.SaxyIrishTenor wrote:Dayons_Den wrote:

I thought they changed that rule this year. I also think that it will reset to like 8 seconds if the kick occurs when it is under 8.Dayons_Den wrote:I also found out from the bad ref that the shot clock no longer resets on a kicked ball situation.

First off, the dance team uniforms were a very old version. Some of the girls had lef their regular uniforms in their residence halls. The halls are shut down, so they could not get in. Therefore, the dance team had to wear the older uniforms because we had enough of those around for everyone to wear.
Second, it is the middle winter in Bowling Green, Ohio. Not really conducive to getting a tan, and I bet there are a lot of posters on this forum who could stand to lose a few pounds, particularly after the holiday season!
I can see a critique of the dance routine or the uniforms, but to suggest they need to change their appearence or drop a few pounds is a just a bit much in my opinion. They are wonderful girls, and they all love BGSU!
GO FALCONS!

Re: Random Thoughts From the CMU game
Personally I'm more worried about the one girl who needs to visit Al-Mar Lanes for a few dozen cheerleaders. Sure they're not all super skinny, but I can deal with that...the one girl looks like she's unhealthily skinny, however.Warthog wrote:Glad someone else commented first. For those that are interested I would recommend a trip to Ypsilanti, their dance team is generally top notch.

Did you mean cheeseburgers, or can I really get cheerleaders at Al-Mar? Don't know if I could handel a dozen, but mabey two.

I meant cheeseburgers. The girl looks anorexic or something. If she broke a bone it wouldnt' require an x-ray...
