WMU Game Thread
BG is up 16-10 with 14 minutes left in the first half. I think the game got a late start becuase Western had a girls game at 2 that might have ran long. There are so many sports on today and I'm trying to following everything, it's crazy, but alot of fun!
Here's live stats on the broncos website:

Sweet. I looked for live stats at WMU's site, but didn't see them in that cluttered mess they call a website! Thanks!
Chatroom is "open", btw.

Uh-oh
BG starting to fall apart a little bit. It's now 35-27 in favor of Western. Where's that great defense we've been playing all season???
Under 4 to go in first half.

WMU's live stats are sitting on :04 left in the first half... they must be playing by NBA rules, as long as it's taken to play four seconds!

Yes, indeed, the Falcons were blown out after coming out 16-4 right out of the gates! We proceeded to get outscored by 34 points from there on out.
Wright with only 4, Samarco with 14 and Floyd with a career high 23, I believe.
Congrats to Floyd on the career high; however, Floyd, with the offensive players we have should never be put in a position where he has the chance to score 20 points. Credit to him for stepping up while other "offense-first" guys failed to make the mental journey to K-zoo like Wright and Moten.
Soler stepped up with 10 big points as well, but fouled out.
Marschall couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat and once again Darryl Clements does not see the floor. I'm sorry, but how bad can a guy hurt you when you're getting beat by double-digits for the entire second half. This almost has to been a Raheem Moss-like situation, b/c there are quite frankly few other situations that warrant intentionally sitting one of your better athletes.
Dan mentioned after the game that we had our two worst practices of the season heading in and even ran a "walk-through" last night to let the guys sleep in. Apparantly the alarm didn't go off for a lot of them b/c we were again outrebounded. Western "sounds" very athletic on the radio from Todd's comments, but they also shot lights out.
Wednesday and Sunday will be a very good barometer of where our team is right now. As Northern has already won on the road in Savage Hall and Toledo is 100X more athletic and deep than we are.

That pretty much sums it up Option. This was our seventh consecutive loss to WMU and unless we see these guy in the MAC Tournament, it'll extend our losing streak to the Broncos to five years.OptionQB wrote:Yes, indeed, the Falcons were blown out after coming out 16-4 right out of the gates!
