Legit as any other draft site is. Never seen one get things 100% correct and never will. In case you hadn't noticed, rating HS and JUCO talent and how it will relate to Division 1 ball is not exactly a scientific certainly.dduncan wrote:Is this 'kicking' site legit? I agree, it is pretty accurate and the *** rating they have on most of their players matches well with others such as rivals.com.
Although it does have some bias because it's touting kickers that also attended the Sailer camp and competition...so just like Mack Brown commended Texas HS football to motivate recruits, Sailer is giving his attendee's some recognition to also say "hey come to this camp, look how many of our guys got schollies and where".
I don't know if your boy, Bryan Wright "best kicker in Ohio going to Mich", was necessarily the best but was certainly up there.
BGSU also missed out on other area talent that grabbed a Kent schollie to leave nothing to chance.
PS Brett Upson is still not signed, but I am sure we'll find someone eventually...wasn't there a story behind how the Cowboys found Toni Fritsch??

And it’s not like they didn’t measure up to my meaningless standards, they didn’t measure up to the team’s nor probably their own. Watching us attempt any kind of a kick meant holding your breath and waiting to see what happened next. Our kicking game was poor no matter how you cut it, and the proof was in our stats or in anyone’s eyes that saw it this year. Did we improve? Yeah, but it was still poor and I think Bill Parcells would even agree with that.

It think more importantly, quit calling the players out by name. Their time is done at BG. Why do you need to keep ragging on them? Let it go that the kicking was troublesome at times. I understand during the season that it upset us fans, but let these kids move on with their lives with out being the butt of yours and others jokes. Show them a little respect for being a part of the team.

Word has it that this kicker was visited by BGSU at his home last night (Thursday) in Florida. Maybe he is the next Falcon kicker....

Yeah, but can he dropkick like Flutie?Redwingtom wrote:Is this our next kicker? He is listed by Scout as interested in us. The following link seems to think he is pretty good and says that he has 3 years of eligibility remaining!

Not to be an OSU slappy but Tressel did say the mark of a great team is the ability to convert on special teams. What a difference it is to go for it on 4th and 8 from the 30 instead of being almost assured of 3 points...it plays a big factor in the long run.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
The "Big Bird" will be visiting BGSU this weekend.

I don't think he is listed on scout. Rivals lists him as an unranked player.FLCoach wrote:The "Big Bird" will be visiting BGSU this weekend.

Swenson, one of the kickers previously offered by BGSU who went to Michigan State, was unranked as well on rivals till he accepted to the Spartans. Swenson and Ellis both competed at the one on one kicking combine last summer.
