Now this is the kind of transfer news I enjoy hearing about! UNCW's website said he left for personal reasons, so I hope coming to BG will be a good fit for him and the program. I've been to UNCW a few times, or UNC-by-the-sea as some of them call it down there. Wilmington, N.C. is a cool place, UNCW was okay in my opinion. I did like their basketball arena Trask Coliseum, it's a pretty cool facility. And here's a little TV trivia you can use, much of the TV show Dawson's Creek was filmed in Wilmington and on UNCW's campus. They always tell you about it when you go down there.
Here's a link for UNCW's stats and for Miller: http://www.uncwsports.com/

He saw the court in most of the games on a good, upper-classmen laden roster.
At 6-4 and 230, with comparision to Anthony Stacy, he's listed as a guard. Hmm. Maybe he's a Keonta Howell type.
Overall, there's a lack of physical strength on our roster, so he'll be a good complement in that regard.
This is our final scholarship commitment, assuming no other premature departures.

Miller is certainly a welcome addition. I can tell you after seeing him in HS, the kid is one helluva of an athlete. He was a Steve Atwater-type hard hitting safety on the football team and has very good range in basketball. Maybe he can talk his buddy Luke Alexander back onto the football field.
Good pickup, but once again, come next January, where do all the shots come from?, we still play the game with one ball and that could be our short-coming with Moten, Samarco, Wright and now another gunslinger joining the fray.
I would love to see additional frontcourt help, but adding Miller and Sullivan next year will help.

With all these guards we should run run run!Flipper wrote:I don't see a problem...I'd like to have three decent scoring options on the floor at all times. Adding this guy gives you the bench depth to achieve that.

Someone leaves our team, he's a candy ass. Someone who leaves another team and comes here is a good thing?

Sounds like a good pickup. Sounds as though he's a 2/3 combo type player...Dan's setting the bar pretty high by saying he'll remind us of Stacey, he must really like him.
I don't care if he is a Candy-Ass we need athletic talent. Although I cannot imagine a candy-ass transferring IN to the Dakich regime.
