Resurrect the Bugle...

Post by Rightupinthere »

I vaguely remember the bugle. I didn't spend too much time in sec A because I was usually in the A band. I did sit there now and again.

Anyhoo, I was pondering the bugle and its comeback (or a derivation of said rag). Do you all have any idea how many good and humorous writers we have on just this site alone? Gads, descirbing said list as "robust" would be a gross understatement.

We could split up the work-load and produce the paper with the help of a Kinkos employee (perhaps ad space in return). Said paper could be sold for - say - a quarter (cost).

We could tell people of the origins of the cheers and the fact that when they say, "and still suck" they are giving honor to U of M. That may change their behavior. If the kids would realize that the cheers we put forth were developed by BG and we were basically the bellwether of hockey cheers, they may take more pride in doing the original cheers.

Thoughts?

Thoughts? Just one:

WHAT A GREAT FRIGGIN' IDEA!!!

:D

I have no idea what I would be able to contribute, but I'd be willing to do something for it!

Anyone remember the Section A Screamer?

It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I would be willing to contribute a humorous article every now and then if it was needed. I don't know much of the original publication (next to nothing, really) but if it helps things get back to the way they used to be, I'd be more than happy to assist.

I too would be happy to assist in any way possible. Since I live in Columbus I could just e-mail a story when needed. PM me if you are serious about this.

I had Screamer in the topic heading but I changed it to Bugle. I imagine this will have another or new name, perhaps. Who knows?

We could customize it per section. Have a student version and an adult version. There are a LOT of things we could do with this.

How's this for a tag line - with Grant's permission, "[Title of work] brought to you by the collective supermind which is Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com"

Hell, I'll contribute something now and again, if you like.

I so rarely get to use my razor-edged wit in my writing for work :D

Hell, I'd even pay for the production of said rag... at least pick up the Kinko's tab!

And, we really ARE a "collective supermind," aren't we?
