While I'm no huge fan of college athletics getting funding at the expense of educational facilities the comparison isn't always apples and oranges. I'm not sure that the Savage renovation is slated to receive any govt money or whether it would be paid for by private donations. If a wealthy alum wants to give cash to the University for athletic facilities ala Sebo, that's their perogative, whether the University is struggling in other areas or not.Falcons4Life wrote:Does anybody else find this ridiculous...we all just argued in another forum how UT is closing their dorms...which are meant to house students (assuming that is why a university really exists), and now we are talking about a 38 million dollar renovation to Not so Savage Hall! As much as I want to be like....Toledo you are equally as retarded as we give you credit for....I have to assume this is a result of a 'whack ass' american culture!!! HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE??? University...does anyone remember where that word comes from, or what it stands for?
Jesus I sound so European right now....but it is unbeleivable!
My guess is that in twenty years the University of Toledo in Ohio (its new name after the MEd School merger) will still have dorms and still have students and that there will still be people on both the UTiO and the BGOSU(BG's new name after the Owens merger) ends of the Wizzerpuff (it replaced the Internet in 2016) going Nyahh Nyahh na na na at the other university's problems.
Seriously, it could be "The House That Nate Built."JWEIII wrote:I got it...

Unless Big Nate's BBQ makes a considerable donation to the building fund, I think Harold Anderson's name still gets top billing in BG hoops.JWEIII wrote:Seriously, it could be "The House That Nate Built."JWEIII wrote:I got it...

Although, a Big Nate's BBQ in the concession area could be an AWESOME touch!

That name might not do too much for the sales of the culinary outlet. Too many images of "the day after" are conjured by the name alone.JWEIII wrote:"Big Nate's House of Ribbs - That Roars."
