Falcon Bball Recruit Off to Super Start!

Post by falconfan1 »

Newark Catholic HS opened their girl's basketball season with a win against Liberty Union. BG November signee Sarah Clapper began her senior year with 31 points and 10 rebounds.

Pretty good start for Sarah. Might have another first team All Ohio recruit here.

Interesting. I though that the season would've started back in early Nov. already. Well that aside , its sounds like we're getting another good one guys! :D

Newark Catholic/BG signee Sarah Clapper scored 19 points as her team won by 60 Tuesday. I assume she probably played half the game as they led by 35 or 40 at the half. A. Clapper scored 23- may be a talented younger sister in the family.

Her team is changing leagues next year. For now, she/they need more competition. Tougher teams are coming up.

Keeping all up to date on women's bball signee Sarah Clapper., Newark Catholic remained undefeated with a 52 point victory over Millersport. Sarah had 24 points. I am sure she is playing half a game in these outings. They led by almost 39 at the half. I hope to see her play live again shortly.

Again, tougher teams on the schedule, but if there is ever a school needing to change leagues, it is this one. As I posted, I believe they change leagues next season.

Sarah has a younger sister on the team, Amy (sophomore) she had 22 points 10 boards the other night...Sarah had 24. Maybe in a few years the Clapper sisters will play again at BG.

Every couple of years each league switches the teams around in the Division

For example. If they were in the Ohio Capital Conference-Buckeye division this year they would change to the OCC-Ohio Divsion the next and so on. They like to mix it up a little bit.

Continuing my ongoing Sarah Clapper update- she had 23 points (little sister Amy had 16) as Newark Catholic went to 7-0 with a near 40 point win last time out. S Clapper hit two threes. With a halftime lead of again near 40, you can bet Sarah is getting these numbers in limited playing time.

I know tougher teams await.

Newark Cath's Sara Clapper rang in the new year with 28 points as she finally played more than a half versus host Heath. The Green Wave pulled away for a 57-33 win in the holiday tourney title game.

In the opening round, the bell tolled for Watkins Memorial as NC won by 40 plus and Clapper received polite applause for her 20 points in the first half- and the game. This girl is could make a lot of noise for the Falcons during her career.

Newark Catholic moved to 11-0 with a 73-46 win over Licking Heights Jan 10. BG signee Sara Clapper goes for 30 with 8 boards and 5 steals. Two threes among her field goals.

Just another ho hum game I guess! Sister Amy gets 10 so that's 40 for the Clapper sisters out of NC's 73.

Latest Sarah Clapper update finds her team remaining undefeated at 11-0. Most recent win was by 27 over Licking Heights in a game that was fairly close into the early fourth quarter. Earlier in the week, Green Wave wins by 56 against overmatched Berne Union squad. Obviously, Clapper must usually earn her plaudits (and stats) in less than full games. Eventually, she will be counted on for a few full games in a row.

Through 11 games, Clapper is igniting the applause meter with averages of 21.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists. Clapper is one of three 6' starters for NC and, in my mind, a lock for first team all state. The Green Wave advanced to the D IV regional two of the past three years- hopefully they can get that far this year and perhaps all the way to Columbus.

Awesome , great updates. Is it possible to find out what other schools might have offered her?

Everybody in the MAC and A10 wanted Sara Clapper. All of them. Clapper chimes in with 30 last night as Newark Catholic remains undefeated with 66-28 win over Harvest Prep. Clapper answers the bell with three three pointers in that one.

Newark Cath proved not to be invinciable as the Green Wave lost their first game of the season 57-46 to West Muskingham. West Musk is the alma mater of current Falcon frosh Jessica McKenzie. Hopefully, this nonleague loss will be motivational for NC as they head down the road this season.

Sarah Clapper did not disappointment as she had 27 in the loss. She had one three point goal- the only three for NC. West Musk hit 8 threes over the top of the Wave.
