Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, could be. I just uploaded the full rez version. Did Kent have a black head-coach that year?

It was a heartbreaker indeed, but I have to say that I'm not one bit disappointed with this team. Sure I was a bit disappointed by the loss last night, but not in the least with the team. The fact is, we are a young team learning to play as a team for a complete forty minutes. I expected this team to play as a Jekyll and Hyde type of team with the combination of youth and injuries this team had to deal with so far this season. But lately, I'm seeing a bit more Dr. Jekyll than Mr. Hyde out of the team (minus perhaps the last 30 minutes of the WMU game becasue that was Mr. Hyde again). If things keep moving in the direction I believe they are going, BG could be a very tough out come tournament time. In all actuality, that's what we want anyways. As realists, we all know the MAC regular season doesn't mean anything come NCAA tournament selection time. What Dakich has to do and seems to be doing is getting this team closer and closer to being a complete team. Lefeld appears to be the real deal at center. Samarco is a pure scorer and shooter. Wright will find his legs and has shown signs of becoming the leader on this team. Sowler seems like a very accurate shooter as well, he just needs to shoot a little more. And I don't think anyone can complain about what they've seen from the freshman Erik Marschall. And Floyd's cut down on his turnovers as well. Overall, I like what a see so far, and getting experience in close games at the college level can only help these guys come MAC tournament time.

That picture is from the Kent State game. That 6'8'' kid form NIU was a Freshman (Reichel), only averaged 3.6 points per game going into last nights game. NIU is a solid team, they beat DePaul and Kansas State. That said we should have won this one. We flat forgot to box out one of their best players on their last shot. This team is getting better and they will be fighting for a seventh or eighth seed come year end. I think NIU will win the West and gain the second seed but 1, 3,4,5 and 6 will all come from the East. This team will surprise somebody come tournament time.

Gary Waters was at Kent then. I can see the "Kent" vaguely across the jerseys of Demetrius Shaw, Trevor Huffman (grrrrrrrr....), and Andrew Mitchell.

I wanted to post something about this but there is no point. You said exactly what I wanted to. The players are starting to fall into their roles. Floyd/Samarco and Wright as a 3 guard tandem. Soler off the bench at the forward spots. Perrick at backup PG. Moten at backup SG. Marschall as our starting PF and Lefeld as the C. Clements and Radasfasfasdfasd as the last two off the bench.

Now that's a cool picture! Looks like mabey Gates on Len?

Anyone else notice that the score is 56/50 with 8:42 left in the 1st half?

Can that be right?

Last night I told some people around me I believe that was the first time we hit 50 in the first half in like 6 years. Guess I might have been right!

The final was 71-61, I think a certain scoreboard operator just fell asleep at the wheel.

That was at the middle part of the second half. We ended up in the 70's that game. It probably was Gates trying to check Lenny that night.

We scored 52 in the second half versus OU last year.

last time we posted 50 in a half...

Post by basketballcontact »

The last time we scored 50 in a half, before last night, was in our home game with Ohio last season on February 7th. We scored 52 in the second half and won going away.

45 was our highest output of the year in a half before last night.
