HOLY COW!!!
HOLY COW!!!
With 2:30 to go in the first half, CMU hs just 3 points!!! They've made just one basket in 17:30 minutes. I know Ohio is very good and CMU is very bad, but that is crazy.
GO BG!!!
Of course it isn't a football score. OU football hasn't scored 35 points in YEARS!BGSU33 wrote:At the half, and no this isn't a football score, it's Ohio 35, CMU 7.

They just said on TV there is something like 10,094 at The Convo to see Ohio play CMU today. Wow. If they can get 10,000 plus for CMU (one of the worst teams in the country), they'll probably be selling out the 13,000 seat arena for games with Miami and Akron. Here, I'm just hoping we can get at least 3,000 against our biggest rival (Toledo) which would double what our season-high attendance has been for any game this year.
GO BG!!!

That's right baby! Over 10,000 in the house to see the 'Cats against a last place team. How many games will it take BG to get 10,000 for the season? You're only half way there and it's January. Ha Ha. That's about how many fans you get for a football game, and that's sad considering how good of a program you claim to have.BGSU33 wrote:They just said on TV there is something like 10,094 at The Convo to see Ohio play CMU today. Hopefully, Lamonta Stone will not get the CMU job that will soon be vacant.BGSU33 wrote:They just said on TV there is something like 10,094 at The Convo to see Ohio play CMU today. Wow. OK, here's my thing: If OU can draw those kind of numbers in stinking backwoods Athens Ohio, why can't we draw those kinds of numbers when we have good teams?
While BG certainly has no room to get in an attendance debate with anyone, the 10,000 was more than double your previous high for the year.

You answered your own question- THERE IS NO PLACE TO GO- THERE IS NOTHING TO DO.(riot and drinking excepted). THERE ARE NO MALLS. The TV stations are from West Virginia for God's sake. And is costs a bundle to park a car there. Think of what all options are available to our students close by. The locals treat OU as their own "big time" team. As we know, our locals are widely divided on their loyalties to teams.BleedOrange wrote:Hopefully, Lamonta Stone will not get the CMU job that will soon be vacant.BGSU33 wrote:They just said on TV there is something like 10,094 at The Convo to see Ohio play CMU today. Fair enough, but it's not like you're overloaded by distractions in NW Ohio either.always a falcon wrote:You answered your own question- THERE IS NO PLACE TO GO- THERE IS NOTHING TO DO.(riot and drinking excepted). It was Dad's weekend at OU and it is very popular. Pretty much every Dad on campus goes to this game. It is always the most attended game. Last year, we had about 9,000 for Dad's weekend. It really has nothing to do with who was played.
There was also a tribute for the late Dan Lowe, the former leader of the O-zone and then later Bobcat promotions director, who suddenly died playing basketball this summer. He was 24 years old. This certainly helped student attendance as well.
It is a shame that other posters from Athens feel the need to blast other teams instead of enjoying a good season.

And BG leads the all time series with Ohio in hoops 65-51.OhioBobcat wrote:That's right baby! Over 10,000 in the house to see the 'Cats against a last place team. We claim to have a good football program? We sure do. You guys suck in football and have for 40 years. LOL! We'll be down to kick your tails again this season.
