I just E-mailed Andy thanking him for the work that he does in bringing Falcon Hockey to the world via WBGU, and I would just like to encourage all of you to do the same! In this day in age it is not unique to be able to access game broadcasts on the internet, but I feel that it is extremely unique to be able to access such high-quality broadcasts on the internet as Andy provides. Those of you that do not live outside of the Bowling Green area may not understand where I'm coming from, but for those of you that can not make it to games on a weekly basis, I hope you share my gratitude for Andy's efforts. If you do, please tell him, because I have come to realize that we are very, very lucky to have someone of his caliber (and education!) calling our games! You can reach him at:

I agree, Andy does an awesome job!!! I listen to his play by play AT the games as well as at home when they are on the road and he really does a good job of calling the games!!!! I have listened to a LOT of announcers over the years, some great, some HORRIBLE,...Bartt Davis was GREAT in his time, Andy is definitely THE MAN now!!!!!! I hope we can keep him for a LONG time!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I miss Bartt Davis. He was phenominal. I've only listened to a couple of Andy's games and he's seems to do a great job.

He's a sports writer for the Sentinal Tribune. He does mostly high school games, I believe.

He needed a REAL full time job...announcing BG Hockey didn't pay the bills well enough! Can't blame him!!

Wow, forgot all about him!! Yes, I DO remember him! He did a GREAT job of announcing the games. I remember hating listening to the games after he left, as it always takes awhile to get used to a new announcer when you LOVED the previous one!! Soooo, what happened in East Lansing????

I was thinking it was partly because the school wanted students to do the play-by-play of the games.

Nope. At the time the games were announced on WFOB and 88.1, similar to football. Once WFOB dropped the games we went through several years of students announcing the games and it was almost unbearable. The school finally heard enough complaints and hired Andy Evans to do it.

I know the story, cuz he's told it to me about 14 times. I'll let him share it though. It's a good one..
