Northern Ohio is pretty heavily democratic, go figure. Democrats are sterotypical class A ball babying sobbers who are not willing to accept the things in their lives the way that they are but cry because they want everything changed. The world does not work like that, and you still have not figured that out. Maybe that just shows your maturity levels?

Something else that shows your maturity levels is the fact that you get so angry over sports. It is, afterall, just a game.

You dont just cheer to root for a team because you love them, they are in the same divisions as Big ten ACC SEC etc.. they are in the same division where the BCS awards a national champion. They players play to win that title, the fans root for them to do so.

also shows maturity level when you try to personally attack me and you know nothing abut me...i havent personally attacked anyone.

I guess OSU fans have more class t

I'm sorry you won't try to understand the real reasons many posters here don't feel affection for Ohio State. But I assure you, for most of us it has nothing to do with jealousy. Didn't you read Peregrinner's post about being happy in the MAC? That sums it up for me, and I suspect quite a few others.

.
I understand why you dont like OSU, I am not trying to make you like OSU. That is not my point in my posts. The point of my posts is that you hate them because you know a few people who are bad, a little too crazy and there are a few who refuse to acknowledge the accomplishments of the MAC at all.

The point of my posts also is because there are a lot of hypocrits who cry and bitch about talking about OSU but they were the same people who were the first to post negative stuff about OSU. I am makig it a point to argue with those hypocrits because they get pissed very easily and I just sit back and laugh at all the humor. I toy with you people.

About being happy in thenMAC though? why? it is getting weaker. someone said they think it is getting tugher with akron and buffalo OU improving I disagree. I think that is a result of Miami and BG having very bad years. The best thing for BG is to get the F out of the MAC.

FYI, teke, the article in the OSU AA magazine was not talking specifically about language - it was talking more about physical and verbal, one-on-one assult of opposing fans. And they seemed really proud of themselves for not having had a post-game riot since 2003.

Furthermore, I am in no way an immature crybaby. I just think it is fun watching you make an ass of yourself. You've gotten to the point where you can contradict yourself in a single sentence. Its funny - your kind of like a moronic superhero, and I've decided that I want to see more of it. I'm sure I'm not the only one enjoying the spectacle.

my point is that people from other school scan take a joke. Why does everyone here at the BG boards take everything so personally? lighten up. I dont take a damn thing any of you say seriously. I laught at you.I find humor in how easily it is to anger you over something so friggin stupid as football. it is very very sad

Teke, we all know that not every OSU fan is an idiot, jerk, whatever.

But if there weren't some truth to the reputation, why would it exist-- not just among the fans of other Ohio schools, whom, I suppose it could be argued, might have some sort of jealousy or whatever-- but among fans of other BCS schools who have had experiences with OSU? Surely everyone isn't "jealous" of Ohio State. Michigan has a winning-er program, in football at least, so they're probably more worthy of jealousy-- but you don't hear stories about their fans to the same extent as about OSU's.

I don't "hate" OSU or their fans. I know TONS of Ohio State fans whom I like very much, and who would no sooner cuss out an opposing fan than they would kick a puppy. I'm actually hoping to go to OSU for grad school. But it is pretty well-known that Columbus is one of the scarier places in which to be a fan of an opposing school, especially on game days, when the mob mentality leads to rioting with such frequency that it has become blase. (Talk about getting angry over football!) That's just something unappealing about that.

Reputations rarely come from nowhere. *shrugs*

Incidentally, can we all be done with this argument soon, please? Bleeding Orange may be enjoying the spectacle, but it's starting to get kind of old... in my opinion....

you only hear about OSU fans because , oh wait, you live in Ohio. I have stories from michigan and their fans, that I have never seen or even heard of happening at OSU.. My grandpa had beer and penny filled marshmallows thrown at him just for wearing an OSU hat.

Wisconsin was the worst I have ever seen, being an 8 PM game prolly didnt help because all the little juveniles had extra drinking time but they were bad. even inside the stadium the band had a little song they played with brief pauses where the whol student section in unison would yell "F*&k ohio state. I can not believe their president , their athletic director and everyone else who has any say in the matter allows that to happen. Thats a great show of class. Wisconsin is by far the worst place I have ever been.
I know you guys didnt have the same experience, because it was 11 AM there, they didnt get their drinking time in and they prolly didnt really care. Most of them thought they were going to lose to a MAC school. Makes a difference.

West Virginia, their fans were even worse than UM fans, what do you expect from a group of toothless hillbillies drinking moonshine and kissing their sisters. OSU fans took Morgantown over which made it a bit better, we had more fans than they did or it may have taken UW's place as my #1 worst place.

anyways the point is that everyone has different experiences no matter where they go..Everyone has asshole fans. You only hear so much about OSU's bad fans because your from here. if you were from wisconsin you would hear about theirs, West VA etc..

I am willing to bet that all of you who went to OSU game few years ago didnt have that bad of an experience beyond losing the game. I am sure people made comments and I am willing to bet 90 % of those were in good fun and humor. The other 10% were prolly to drunk to pay attention to the game. If someone made a comment and you took it personally then shame on you for not being able to take it and move on.

This pissing match as gone on for days now and I highly doubt there is anything in the world more pointless than what this has gotten too (on both sides). But what I am curious about is why if you don't take anything seriously do you bother to keep posting and replying to everyone. Not only that you are actually arguing something so you must have some vested interest in it. Both sides are making posts really just to piss the other person off. I think you are taking it seriously if you care to respond. Just let it die, Everyone. Also please refrain from always generalizing everyone on the site. The vast majority aren't complaining, don't think the sky is falling on BG athletics, can take a joke, and honestly don't think about OSU because it doesn't affect our lives.

Besides everyone know UK is going to become the next football powerhouse and will kick the crap out of OSU if they ever play

You have never heard an osu fan use the F word? You must have those red and gray earplugs in.

Holbrook Apologizes to Texas Fan

According to Ohio State University president Karen Holbrook, some Buckeye fans left a bad taste in the mouths of visiting Longhorn faithful last Saturday.

So much so that Holbrook decided to apologize publicly.

The post-game reaction to the Texas loss, according to police, was fairly tame. Someone torched several dumpsters near campus, but not much else went wrong otherwise.

But Ohio State administrators received complaints from Texas fans about harassment from the Buckeye faithful.

Descriptions of Buckeye fans included words like "classless and rude." One visiting Longhorn said a drunk OSU fan rushed him from behind, shouting obscenities.

Holbrook responded in an e-mail to one fan, that was published in Austin's newspaper.

She apologized, saying, "We have been working very hard to change a culture from one that is disrespectful to one that is welcoming. Obviously, there is still much work to do."

A university spokesperson said that there was a positive atmosphere at Ohio Stadium overall Saturday night. Liz Cook said it was just the actions of a few fans who got out of hand that ruined the mood for others.

As for the Wisconsin game, some of my friends were at that game and the only complaint they had was that the security would not let them stand during the game. Maybe the time did have an effect and things happen over time.

I was at the OSU game in 2003. The fans treated us extremely well...I don't remember any band member complaining about the fans.
Yes maybe we do stereotype OSU, but BG gets stereotyped as well. It comes from being a competitive school not only in athletics but in academics (the real reason for college) as well.

Nothing is being accomplished in this thread anymore. What started out as an interesting topic has degenerated into a dead-end.

Anyone want to take bets on how long it takes before this thing gets locked?

dot talk to me about class. I have definately seen a lot of un classy thngs happen at BG.
I'm not sure if the homosexuals that are alumni put it together, but Alumni still represent the University.

No f*** Michigan chants? Bull---- sir. I've been to 6 OSU/UM games and the student section throws around the F bomb because evidently that's what they teach in the English classes there. Hell, students had shirts printed up that said "F*** Blue" on the front with a Michigan cheerleader performing fellatio on Brutus on the back of the shirt.

Those in glass houses....
