The folks that do ESPN's recruiting analysis list Marshall as the #81 safety in the country. As it sits, that's a pretty good looking class. I'm kind of shocked that we don't have some 290-300 lb farm boy from Ohio on the list because we seem to get at least one of those guys a year.

On a funny note, Joe Underwood from Youngstown has switched from Miami to UT (according to Rivals, in part because Miami threatened to pull his offer if he went to UT on a visit) because of the academics.

He's a 6'2, 245lb LB/DE and he wants to study nursing....way to tackle the stereotypes, Joe

option, Tarell Lewis stats that we know are #27 Detroit News Top 60 Michigan players, 5'10", 178 lbs, played DB/WR/RB and is being recruited as a corner. His hometown/high school is Redford, MI Thurston HS.

I think he will be a contributor over time. C. Marshall is fast as you noted, but I am not sure about a move to offense as I believe we are recruiting speed as a priority- particularly defensive speed- at all positions.

The poster who noted our lack of OL type recruits makes a good point. It would appear we simply targeted to sign just a couple big linemen with the players we have stockpiled at interior positions. We look to have just the one true OL recruit.

It would not surprise me to see a Florida WR in the group- perhaps a good one in the mold of a Charles Sharon. By that I mean a talented kid who might be a diamond in the rough and can flat run. Chuck did not have many offers and we really got a good one. I keep hearing about that last WR we are looking for. We sure need another good one to go with Pronty etc.

Go Falcons!

FF1,

Good information thus far. I have no reason to doubt you based on the previous information turning out thus far, is there any chance that Lance Tillison could be the Florida burner that you're talking about? I believe he is from the same HS as Aaron Davis, a sleeper in last year's class that is said to have great speed and is 6'2 or taller as well. Tillison shows no BG offer on Scout and I don't have my Rivals subscription any longer. On Scout, Tillison is 6'1", is said to run sub 4.5 (combine says 4.92) and is listed as a safety, but like all other HS DBs, probably played a little on both sides of the ball. Armwood is an option-first attack, so his WR skills could be "under the radar" much like Davis. He is a Katrina transplant, originally coming from Louisiana. Just curious?

option, as you can see Iowa has the player you mentioned. I have a couple guys down in the Sunshine State who are pretty well connected on recruiting- witness the Revell QB prospect info which was right on though we got the NJ player likely because we just felt he was the better QB.

I will try to shake those Florida orange trees; in any event we will have a pretty fair number of recruits from the Sunshine State to go with our OH. MI and IL base.

Go Falcons!

I'd like to see us land Louisville's (OH) Drew Kuhn. He's got decent size and speed (6'-0", 180lbs and a 4.49 40). He played QB/DB this year, but he has played some WR. He's drawn some rave reviews for his versatility and athleticism...

Have we ever heard anything definitive on the kid from Patrick Henry? Just curious, because I thought he was supposed to be a pretty good prospect.

I was told that we are no longer interested in him for football, a few weeks ago.

he could be a good get. he was the stark county player of the year, the best player on an undefeated team (he played QB and threw for 2100 and ran for another 1100, in what is admittedly the second tier conference in stark county), and D2 all ohio first team. he could be a versatile addition for us, and a real steal since no one else appears to be looking at him. he might just be forced to go win a national championship or four at mount union.

the latest on kuhn from the repository:
"A Stark County senior who has not been offered by a Division I school is Louisville’s Drew Kuhn. He has the size and speed to play in the Mid-American Conference, yet the University of Akron and Kent State have not offered Kuhn (no wonder Buffalo beat Kent). Louisville head coach Paul Farrah said Vanderbilt is looking at Kuhn, but has not offered. Kuhn could end up at Division III national power Mount Union. Kuhn’s mother works for the college and he would be able to attend Mount tuition-free."

He's also playing in the Big 33 this summer. His HS coach, Paul Farrah, is the coach for the Ohio team.

I can't imagine that no one is on this kid from what I'm reading. I like getting kids with a history of success and this kid appears to have that, not to mention the basic physical tools.

Magnone's first name is actually Angelo, his brother is Antonio and is at Youngstown State.
