Dan I just wanted to thank you

Post by Germainfitch1 »

and apologize for not remembering the solid season you put forth last year. you have given us yet another MAC player of the year candidate in Samarco if not two when you include Marschall and the level he could be playing at 4 years from now. Thank you for turning water into wine, giving us a respectable season and a respectable team. Now please continue that great recruiting, get us a big man as soon as possible and then knock a few teams off in the tourney. Forgive me for forgetting last season, I wanted to beleive but when people were talking about 20 win seasons I felt like I had to go the other direction. Hold on to this team and we could be places.

My only thught is and will continue to be, imagine where we would be with Vandermeer. Can he transfer back?

True true......last year had some great moments, great games, and going into WMU we still had a shot at a bye for the tourney! I say people stop throwing this guy under the bus......why? cause they couldnt coach a dog to lick its own crotch let alone win college basketball games.

that having been said....my dog wont stop doing that!

I'm just glad that now that we are in conference play, everyone is starting to believe again. We might not be the most talented team, but give this team time. They are starting to get it, and once that happens, you never know. I am just really glad that most of the people on here are starting to give coach credit. Can we now start to forget about those kids who don't want to be in the program and thank the ones who are? I echo the sentiments of Germaine and say thank you. I really do believe we have a great coach that is teaching the boys to be men in LIFE. That is the most important thing. All of the kids that go through his program and stay, they are class acts after they leave BG. Love his style or not, it has been effective when conference play starts.

Germainfitch...aren't you the same guy who was saying last spring that we should write Marschall off because he only scored 7 points in his final HS game?

Not trying to single anyone out because even I have been guilty of this but opinions seem to change when our team starts winning. Our next loss, we will see how horrible everyone is again. Same thing happens in the football forum.

Since when are we as fans not allowed to change our mind when more information comes along? I was attempting to push for signing Tyler Rosenberger as well because he outplayed him in that game and I was very familiar with Tylers game having covered him the season prior. Is till think he would be a good off the bench utility player, but we are recruiting above that now.

Very true,

I still dont think this team is that talented, I just think Dakich is doing a great job with them to make them competitive and making their weaknesses look less glaring. I for one was more focused on the transfers than his ability to get the most out of the players he has. I was reminding myself outwardly that he may have some negatives but he is still a stud in many other areas.

That was a pretty cool post, Germain.

While this team may not be the most talented in the MAC, it certainly seems to be the hardest working team. I wasn't as excited for this season as years past knowing we would have a pretty tough haul. But I must admit now I am jacked. Will we win the MAC....maybe not. But this team, who most people including myself, picked for last in the East, will be a very dangerous team the rest of the way. And it is a young team with a bright future.
Throw in the fact that Coach D's players are classy off the court as well and earn their degrees? I can't say enough about Coach...and I wouldn't want anyone else as BG's coach at this time.

Keep up the great work Coach D & staff!

3 things I see as bad with Dakich

1.I dont like the offense
2.I dont like the transfers
3.I dont like that we have not made the tournament with atleast 2 very good teams

Thats it. And all can be fixed. Heck, I have not seen the team in a long time so number one may already be fixed. Number two appears fixed and number three is fixed with a quick run.

I'm not trying to be negative, but before getting too hyped up, I think it's important to realize that our 3 MAC wins are against teams that are a combined 1-16 in the MAC this year.

The mark of a good or decent team is beating the teams you should.

Trust me I am a Bengals fan, I am used to losing to many many teasm I thought we should beat. Browns fans you know, win some surprises get beat by the bad teams.

True but with the east teams playing the west teams right now, probably everyones wins look like that. Only NIU has more than 1 win in the west (4), two others have 1 win, the rest are winless. Also nobody in the east has a losing conference record yet. So if you're going off of the teams you beat records, guess you shouldn't really be too hyped about anyone in the East Division.

.....and if you look at the teams that we LOST to, they have a combined record of 5-6 in the MAC.
