Alright, pointless story time from Bleeding - surprise, surprise. Yeah, I know...
Anyhoo, so I was walking out to do laundry wearing my BG hockey sweater (as is my custom - don't question it), and a guy who lives in my complex walks over to me and says: "Hey - is it Bowling Green or Bowling Green State?" Stunned I said it was Bowling Green State, and we had a nice little conversation. I was kind of stunned, so the only thing I could think to ask him was "are you from the Ohio area?" He responded: "No, I just love that Omar Jacobs!" I was really shocked and said something to the effect of "Well he just left us, but hopefully he'll tear up the NFL now."
I should have told him to watch out for Anthony Turner, too.
Just thought that was cool. Carry on.
A little SW love for Omar!

It's just too bad the LT Falcon logo isn't recognizable to anyone...
Cool story, though!

Good story! A few years ago out of state people thought BGSU was in Kentucky. I remember that comment from the Perdue fans at the game. Traveling down in Atlanta over the holidays I was wearing a BG shirt and a gentlemen asked me if I went to BGSU. He then replied, that's in Ohio right? They have a pretty good football team! It definitely feels good to know that other people accross the nation recognize our school and team. This is one of the positives from the exposure of playing weeknights...just to add my two cents!
I see your Swartz is as big as mine!
about 90% of Wisconsin fans I ran across asked the same question. It was either "Where is Bowling Green?" or "You guys are in, uh, Ohio, right?"BourbonFalcon wrote:Good story! It's good to have the word spread around Atlanta, especially with the recruiting inroads we've made in Georgia. Met a guy in Madison who was a BG fan that flew in from Atlanta for the game.

It appears we met some different fans. All I got was profanities and questions like "why are you here?"TG1996 wrote: about 90% of Wisconsin fans I ran across asked the same question. It was either "Where is Bowling Green?" or "You guys are in, uh, Ohio,

Just about everyone we met over 25 or so was pretty cool.
Just about everyone under 25 or so was a jackass.
