Prediction for tonight against UM.

Post by FalconBlue »

BGSU have not beaten UM for the last 10, at least. Tonight is an opportunity to break that loosing streak.
Based on the UM-MSU game on Tuesday, the game will be physical with tons of penalties. Special teams will win the game or loose the game.

Key: Jon Horrell. If Horrell suits up and gets a little help from his defenseman BG could win. Jon's recent form (2 games) is of concern. If Jimmy Spratt suits up, who knows, it's hard to tell because of the inconsistancy in goal.

Good Luck Falcons.
If you're ridin' ahead of the herd, take a look back now and then to make sure it's still there.

Haven't beaten 'em in 11 games, 8 straight losses since a 1-1 tie a couple years ago.

Time to change that!

No doubt!! BG got the Zero State monkey off their back...time to take down Meeechigan.

Like I posted in the scUM thread, I'd say anything less than 2 points this weekend would disappoint me.

Tonight: 3-3 Tie
Tomorrow: 5-4 Win

I am highly opposed to having Spratt start tonight at Yost. Talk about bad first experiences...

I'm not surprised by the decision to start Spratt. He has shown solid improvement since early in the season, and looked good at Western last week. Pooch will go with the hot hand...I'd bet if we win tonight, it's 50-50 he'll be in tomorrow.

Key to the game is to control the pace and tempo. We can't allow them to drag us into a track meet or a battle of special teams. The solid defensive performance we had against ZERO State will do the job, but an 8-6 game favors them.

Jimmy did grow up in Michigan, so this could also be a big game for him to prove to not only himself but also friends and family there that he is the real deal.

I read the article you linked, it says Senior Noah Ruden starts in goal for the skunks (paraphrased).

Another start in goal for senior Noah Ruden.
You mean Freshman vs. Senior
"I think it was a terrible call,'' Johnson said. "I think (the referee) was influenced by the fact that the kid was hurt. But the kid's got a facemask on. If he bleeds, don't play hockey if you can't handle it.''
Seems to me like a certain little boy has an attitude problem as well. Oh well, he'll learn soon enough that using the media to criticize an official's judgement is a big no-no

If a coach said the same thing he'd get fined...LSSU's coach goe hit for a grand earlier this year for similar remarks. How do you 'fine' a schlorship athlete? At UM they'd probably suspend his bar tab for a week.

This game scares the crap out of me. If we play D like we did against FSU, we'll get smoked. I don't like our chances tonight. I do like our chances on Saturday with (I'll bet) Horrell in goal. I'd be satisfied with a split this weekend....

The way we played against FSU and UM played against MSU, there might not be more than 4 or 5 minutes of even strength all night!

The key to tonight is taking advantage of the void in the Michigan defense. Without Jack Johnson the Falk, Matsy, Foster line needs to capitalize. Also, Spratt needs to play like he did against Western for BG to even have a chance.
