I was thinking the same thing tonight, RWT.Redwingtom wrote:This chant always seems to bother me. If the other team is overrated, doesn't it make your win less impressive?Falconfliccbone wrote:...and the chants of overrated...
That one bothers me about as much as the "Hey! YOU SUCK!" cheer. That is just classless.

Well did you at least like the "Where you goin?" chants directed at those UM fans making an early exit?

I didn't hear that one, but damn is that good! Those jackals deserve it after all of the crap they have given me (personally) over the past couple of years!BGDrew wrote:Well did you at least like the "Where you goin?" chants directed at those UM fans making an early exit?

That was a great game. Not the best game we've played this year, but still a great game. Their first goal, Horrell was hung out to dry. Great response by our guys though. I don't recall one time seeing them with their heads down or anything like that. Scoring 5 goals and Matsumoto, Foster and Falk have 0 points between them, that just shows how dangerous this team is. Jack whathisname, well, the biggest noise he made all night was when he got laid out by Foster in the first period. Very nice hit.Freddie wrote:As ugly as last night was, tonight was ever so s.s.sweeeet!!!
The d-men cleared pucks, blocked shots and contained the wings.
The forwards followed thru on their defensive duties.
We took advantage of offensive opportunities.
We were the aggressors.
Horrell was solid and poised.
Pilkington was pumped up.
Morrison played like a champion.
The crowd was awesome.
I'm emotionally drained...goodnight.
PS Any word on Unger's condition?
Pi was Pi tonight. He did help us out in the second though. The shot off the post in the second, wasn't off of a red post.

That-is-awe-some. (clap, clap, clapclapclap)BGDrew wrote:Well did you at least like the "Where you goin?" chants directed at those UM fans making an early exit?
Though it does bring back hideous memories of the '04 UT football game. We had the chant meter working overdrive that first half... then the pits of hell opened up, and I got a little dizzy and supposedly some other stuff happened. I'm still waiting for them to finish that game.

That one was definitely a lot of fun.BGDrew wrote:Well did you at least like the "Where you goin?" chants directed at those UM fans making an early exit?
As far as the "overrated" chants... people were a bit too eager with those. I heard those start when there was about 3:00 left. I'm not the most brilliant hockey fan ever, but I do know that it is entirely possible to score 3 in that amount of time... Hell, BG almost scored 2 in :30 against Ferris!
The "HEY! YOU SUCK!" and the chanting "PORTER... PORTER... PORTER.... YOU SUCK!" reminded me a lot of being at a Toledo Storm game and being at the BGvUT game in '04. Definitely not an association I like to make.
But hey, at least there's been some progress!
And on the subject of pictures... I wanted to take some, but as a result of getting so hyped up for the game, I completely forgot my camera. Anyone who has any pictures... please post some. I'd love to see them!

i dont like that one either. i don't understand why they play it. what i understand from being in the band is that the band is not allowed to play it that the athletic dept asked for us to not play it because the crowd yellls hey you suck. this is my 4th year being here and the first year i heard them play it over the P.A. it also seemed like they wanted the crowd to yell it. they started it after everytime we scored. o well, just my 2 centsBleeding Orange wrote:

I take it you've never heard the scUM funnel/seive chant or the telephone chant.Peregrinner wrote: The "HEY! YOU SUCK!" and the chanting "PORTER... PORTER... PORTER.... At least a majority of the crowd doesn't know what you're supposed to add to the end of it...

No surprises there... I've never heard anything positive about UM chants.pdt1081 wrote:I take it you've never heard the scUM funnel/seive chant or the telephone chant."Hey (goalie), you're a seive! You're not a seive, you're a funnel!.........You just suck, you just suck......." And "(Phone rings) Hey (goalie), it's your mom. And she says you suck!" Definately lots-o-class there.
Another one I was disappointed to hear from our side was "It's ALL YOUR FAULT! It's ALL YOUR FAULT!", directed at the goalie, which I've heard attributed to Miami more than once.

I don't know, that one's been around for years (I remember it when I was in college!Peregrinner wrote:Another one I was disappointed to hear from our side was "It's ALL YOUR FAULT! It's ALL YOUR FAULT!", directed at the goalie, which I've heard attributed to Miami more than once.
Miami(OH) *does* have this great chant where one side of the arena yells something about the goalie, and then the other side of the aren... oh, nevermind.
