Don't get me wrong, they are a great place to find out what is going on in the hockey world, but damn I can't stand looking through those 650-post threads to find any info.! I notice that there aren't too many BG posters on there (BGFan, Freddie, pdt, etc.), and none of you guys post too much. I always would love to get involved in the discussions, especially with our opponents, but damn is it hard to follow anything that is going on over there.
Does anyone else agree that those forums could benefit from being set up like the NCAABBS boards, or at least a seperate board for each conference? I don't know how anyone has the patience for that place...

Re: Not a big fan of the USCHO forums...
A lot of us used to post there all the time, but things have changed since we have AZZ to post on now. I rarely go on there, about once a week, if that. Like you, I don't feel like scrolling through a ton of posts that are of little interest to me. It's a good site to get scores on though!! Often times you can go to the scores thread and find out the current scores faster than game tracker. USCHO has it's uses, but for me the board isn't why I go there most of the time. As BG rises back to the top of the hockey world, the BG related chatter will pick up on the forums.Bleeding Orange wrote:Don't get me wrong, they are a great place to find out what is going on in the hockey world, but damn I can't stand looking through those 650-post threads to find any info.! GO ICERS!!
ICE THE LAKERS!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I still read over there, just haven't felt the need to post in awhile. I guess I just kinda get tired of the constant personal attacks there. It's not as friendly as it used to be. If you read through most of the threads, you will see the same names appear over and over. They have a USCHO Extra forum now, but I'm not sure how exactly how many people were/are willing to pay to post about college hockey. I don't mind the side ads they have that some people complain about. That site gets a lot of traffic and it's the easiest way to keep it going (just hope Grant doesn't get any ideas...
). I've started posting on some threads there before only to come back the next day and find over 100 new posts on those threads alone. It's become more of a chat room type thing than conversational/informational threads like we have here. Basically, they just got too big for me.
The Hobey Baker race last year was basically the icing on the cake. I think that was about the first and only time I've ever gotten mad at what someone posted on the internet. I know I'm still quoted in MiketheMullet's signature because of it.

Phi or Die
I used to have my home page set to USCHO, but now I only check it a couple of times a week, and I've tried to ween myself off their message boards. It seems that the vast majority of posters there know nothing about CCHA, and like it that way...ignorance is bliss, I guess. Typical attitude is that any hockey played outside of Minnesota or New England is inferior.
There are several knowledgable fans on the USCHO forum from NMU, and a couple of OK folks from Miami, but most of the CCHA related posts are from the loud mouth idiots like MtM (altho there's a rumor he got banned).

I am with everyone here as well. Everything is so scattered about and the season-long threads are just plain annoying. What's the sense in 30 pages about one team? I like reading some previews people post about interesting weekend matchups, but those are few and far between.
I agree on the amount of CCHA stuff. I think those that are CCHA hockey fans find their own places like here, MHT, UNO's board Mavpuck and a few others. Mike the Mullet posts on USCHO b/c he knows there's only one post per year about anything hockey related on bucknutz.
Also, the recycled threads about who has the best rink, the best band, the worst rink, the worst band get downright boring.
