While that would be cool...I'd ask about pursuing a different channel than BCSN. I know I find it annoying that Toledo cable people get more BG coverage than we do in BG :(
How about wording it like this:
"Is the University pursuing any possibilities for BGSU athletics being televised in Bowling Green and the surrounding area?" What about the University's channel, WBGU (channel 27 for those of us with farmer vision)?

In the late 80's I recall home bball games being on WBGU and when I first moved to Perrrysburg in 1979, they showed home hockey games.

So, there is a precedent...

Is there plans to gret a special teams coach and also could we get a bigger video screen for the scoreboard cause the one we have now is very hard to see things on.

I agree, hammb!! I also think it stinks that we can't get Fox Sports Detroit (which carries MAC & CCHA sports) in BG, but that complaint belongs on the OTHER thread!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Fun questions if you have time, Grantly:

What does Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven mean to you?

If you were to partake in internet chatter, what would your handle be on Ay-Ziggy-Zoomba.com?

Your favorite guilty pleasure of the culinary sort in Bowling Green (eg Myles pizza, Philly from Spots)?

Vacation spot of choice?

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of? (I give you license to dangle your participle in front of the man, Grant.)

Ok, seriously. What is the athletic department doing to tie-in with local alumni associations to facilitate alumni attendance at away games?

For example, last year, the ticket office had no tickets for the Cornell hockey game available for sale.

Why not set aside a small number of tickets and offer them for purchase by a certain date. THis isn't a problem for football, but rather for hoops or hockey.

The advantages are that the remote fan base may reconnect with the University and start to donate or join the Falcon Club.

Here's an interesting one: if in fact we do end up replacing our current jumbotron with a larger one as it would appear that we need to, would it be possible to move our current jumbotron into the Ice Arena? Having a video board in the arena would really, really make a difference in the game experience there, I think. We certainly can't put an overhead scroreboard/videoboard in due to the cieling being so low, so why not put it on the south wall above the zamboni room or the skate shop?

Some questions.....

Post by Falconboy »

I'd like to know how are we doing in advertisement of BG Football , basketball, hockey ext. on billboards or other more easily seen advertisment around town. Also do we have a plan to possilbly put up a south endzone stadium seating to make the Doyt look a little more upscale and complete at least in a "horseshoe" shape kind of way since we'll be having the Sebo in the north enzone.

1) Are there any plans to improve www.bgsufalcons.com? I had to go to Wisconsin's site to find out when the game in Cleveland is, but bgsufalcons.com still has those 2004 results and photos posted.

2) How does the MAC plan to capitalize on Ben Roethlisberger's success?

3) What is more important: solidifying BG's NW OH base or trying to raise awareness on a regional level? (I'm still bummed so many folks in SW OH are clueless about BGSU.)

4) Why does the yellow stuff come off the Cheetoh but won't come off your hand?

5) Why is buffalo still on the toppings menu at Myle's but they haven't had it in years?

You need to call Fact Line (2-2445) for the answers to these two questions.

Rightupinthere wrote:Advertising: Which is more important to BGSU; brand awareness or targeted advertising?

I want to drill down into his thoughts in the realm of promoting the athletic programs of the university. Broad based type (tv/radio/billboards) which is leveraged more for brand awareness or smarter advertising (direct mailers and specialty promotions) which is historically yields more effective results (butts in seats) per dollar spent.
Wow. It sounds like someone had their marketing, strategy, customer acquisition, or all three books out when they put those sentences together. You could make an HBR case study out of that RUIT. You could ask him if he takes Porter's Five Forces model into account when he is putting the schedules together.
UT is listed in the 2004 edition of The Unofficial, Unbiased Guide to the 328 Most Interesting Colleges by Trent Anderson and Seppy Basili as one of the U.S. schools with the “Most Beautiful Urban Campus.”

1. The Sebo Center is an exciting addition to the football stadium, and there have been others (the video board, new bench seating, etc.) Looking over the horizon, what do you see as other priorities at Perry Stadium that you would like to address?

2. Attendance in 2005 was a cruel disappointment to some fans. Was it a surprise to you, and what do you think can be done to improve it?

3. Do you see see attendance as as issue in the future stability of the MAC? For BGSU?

4. Were you surprised at the way the football team performed in 2005? Did the program meet expectations?

5. Do you plan to do anything about the fact that many of Bowling Green's teams are wearing black rather than brown?

6. Be honest: The video board looked bigger in the store than it did when you brought it home and got it out the box. Right? :)

(On that last one, I'm sure he'll give a smooth answer. Don't just report the answer. Look at his face, and his body language, and report back on that, too. :) )

We are in very good hands with Paul Krebs. I trust in his leadership. But those are some of the things I'm curious about.

Paul is probably not the best person to ask, but what the heck:
Are there any plans to update the BGSU license plates with either the new athletic Falcon or retail Falcon logos? It would also be nice to see the new font used.
