when does the schedule come out?

Post by BGSUVA »

I just saw UVAs...I'm gonna miss the ECU game to go to the Ohio State/BG, we also have a bye on Nov 11th, any shot they realize how insane moving games to Wednesdays are and they BG has a game that day?

I'm not sure when it will be released, but here's who we are playing and where. The only dates I know for sure are the OOC games. The order of the MAC games below is not how it will appear, I just listed it this way to show home and away.

9/2/06 vs. Wisconsin
9/16/06 @ Florida International
9/23/06 BOISE STATE
10/7/06 @ Ohio State
TBA MIAMI (OHIO)
TBA @ Ohio
TBA KENT STATE
TBA @ Akron
TBA BUFFALO
TBA @ Central Michigan
TBA EASTERN MICHIGAN
TBA @ Toledo
GO BG!!!

Last year's schedule wasn't released until early April.

I think it was released in February last year....because I know I booked airline tickets to Boise, only to have that changed in April when they switched that game to a Wednesday.

Warthog needs to weigh in. He's done a thorough job of researching other team's schedules and seems to have a reasonable guess as to who and when we're playing...

so if we continue this pattern, we should expect the 2006 schedule on or about may 25.

It all depends on this stupid idea of ALL MAC games being played on Wednesday night in November.

Well, since you asked, here it is again. FYI, Buffalo has just one date set for their OOC games, but it happened to be the date I had them pencilled in to visit the Doyt. So the one change from previous versions is swapping the home dates of Buffalo and EMU. To reiterate again, only the OOC games are set. The MAC portion of the schedule is simply my guess. Oh yeah, I updated the dates for November games to put them all on Wednesdays.

9/2 WISCONSIN at Cleveland Browns Stadium
9/9 KENT
9/16 @ Florida Intl
9/23 BOISE STATE
9/30 @ Ohio
10/7 @ Ohio State
10/14 BUFFALO
10/21 @ Central Michigan
10/28 EASTERN MICHIGAN
11/8 @ Akron
11/15 MIAMI
11/22 @ Toledo

I have to admit, I am awfully excited about the OSU game. Especially since the director of the FMB got her doctorate from there. There's a good chance the band will get to march at Ohio Stadium again. Either way I'm going, I never miss a chance to go down to the shoe.

some OOC dats for other MAC schools are:
BC at Ohio Aug 31st
Buffalo at BC Oct 28th
Clemson at Temple Oct 14th
Western Michigan at FSU Nov 18th (a Saturday game for a MAC team...maybe there is hope)
Akron at NCST Sep 9th
WMU at UVA Sep 16th
Kent St at vt Nov 11th (another Saturday game)
so take that FWIW

Not so fast my friend. This prompted me to check for my updates to other teams OOC schedule. Sept 30 is filling up. The only MAC teams (that we play this year) still open that date are Buffalo, Miami, Akron, and Toledo. My gut feeling is that @Akron, MIAMI, and @Toledo sets up real good for three November Wednesday feature games. So that leaves us Buffalo as the only possible opponent on 9/30.

So if Buffalo is on 9/30, then we go back to 9/9 and find that Buffalo and Ohio are the only two teams still open that date. Since I just put Buffalo on 9/30, that means we have to go to Athens on 9/9.

Given all my assumptions and facts, that leaves us with Eastern, Central and Kent for the dates 10/14, 10/21, and 10/28. I think there has been talk of 10/14 being Homecoming, so, well, that date has to be a home game. So here is my latest prediction:

9/2 WISCONSIN @ CBS
9/9 @ Ohio
9/16 @ Florida Intl.
9/23 BOISE STATE
9/30 BUFFALO
10/7 @ Ohio State
10/14 EASTERN MICHIGAN (Homecoming)
10/21 @ Cetnral Michigan
10/28 KENT (Parent's Weekend?)
11/8 @ Akron
11/15 MIAMI
11/22 @ Toledo

Well, I'd be stoked if those Wed Nov games happen like that. I'd only have to take a 1/2 day vacation for the Miami and UT games...Akron I could make in time after work but I wouldn't get to tailgate....so maybe I'd just take another 1/2 day.

Whatever it takes to be at the games...FIU is the only game we won't make in 2006...I'd like to see Miami late in the season. Keep Kent, Buffalo and EMU early and hopefully the weather will cooperate.

WH, you are da man. Please let this be the sked....
