We need to get Floyd out of the damn lineup. He isn't doing anything to help us win. I've been to AA several times this season to watch him turn the ball over and miss shots and do all of the other crappy things he does on the court. We need to get the younger and better guys in there, and I don't know why Dakich isn't doing this.

I didn't say that he didn't belong on a team, I said he didn't belong on the court. I'm sure he'd make an excellent water boy.

His bright spots are few & far between. What annoys me so much is that his basketball IQ seems so low. You can make it as an unathletic guy that's a hardworker if you think. John Floyd should NOT be launching NBA range 3 pointers with :15 on the shot clock, something he seems to do at least once a game.

He did make a couple of real nice plays the other night, but they were after a terrible 20 minutes. I find it real hard to believe that some of the young guys couldn't contribute more to this lineup than Floyd.

While Floyd is definitely my favorite whipping boy, I don't want it to sound like I think he's the only reason we're lousy, however. We certainly have plenty of holes. While I would like to see Floyd playing less minutes we don't have any guards right now who are so much better than him (of the ones we've seen play) to warrant him never playing. The fact is we last frontcourt depth, and Samarco is the only backcourt player we can count on to give us anything day in/day out. That's not a good formula for building a team...

I understand the knocks on John Floyd are probably legit. However he is not the only guy who is in the playing rotation who deserves criticism. Other than Semarco, all of our starters are below average players in the MAC at their starting positions.

Catch-22 time. Is it a testament to DD's coaching that these under-talented kids can compete, or does the blame fall squarely on DD for not having more talent?

Actually I have said for much of this year, and actually started saying it some last year, that I think Dan's problem is that he wants to do it with too little. Almost as though he wants to try and succeed with the hardworking, unathletic kids to make himself look better.

I want to like Dan, but its getting very annoying to conintually watch so many talented players show up in the MAC, but rarely end up in BG. When they do end up here we drive them away somehow.

I still think it is way to early to say if we can compete this year in the MAC or not. We are 3-4 and have not played the top half of the conferance yet, we have beat the three worst teams in the league, two of those wins were at home and one away against winless Eastern.

Looking at the schedule we might not win 2 more games this year. If we win more than 3 it would be a miracle.

We have to play Miamix2, Akronx2, KSUx2, OUx2, and @ UB. We've got EMU at home as our only SHOULD win game. @ UT is always a tough one for us as well.

People say we're competing for home court in the tournament, but I don't see it. The West teams are awful, but they get to play one another and come away with a few wins. We managed only to go 3-3 against the west teams we've played so far, and all of the East teams are lightyears ahead of us talent-wise.

I'll still be at all the home games, but wouldn't be surprised if I only see 1 more win this year.

hammb,

I agree, the schedule only gets tougher, you mentioned that Toledo is always a tough to play at. I don't think we have won their since the 98-99 season, but not 100% sure.

When i look at this team i see some of the same problems that has been mentioned in this threat.

Floyd is a major problem and everybody knows that. His work ethic is what has earned him his chance to play, but like people have said, its not helping the team win.

I think the other problem is steven wright, he needs to be a pure scorer like samarco. I am impressed that samarco, whos a transfer and is in his first season playing in the mac conference, is carrying our team on his back. Hes been great, but he needs help. Wright is a senior and its time to pick it up right now. To my understanding his ankle is now fully recovered, so i see no reason why he cant average 17 points a game. If we can get a double threat like almanson and reimold then it will help our attack.

As far as the PT goes, i would like to see more of clements and moten because they both have talent. Especially moten, who was recruited by the ACC virginia cavaliers. DD has decided on his rotation, and wont seem to mix it up. why not a wright, moten, samarco, soler, lefeld lineup hmm

Well we just are just gonna have to keep rooting on our falcons and hope they get fight out some wins these next couple of games.

(that said, the lack of PT for moten and to a lesser extent, clements, makes me wonder... )
