Western Michigan

Post by bgsufalcon24 »

The BG Ladies take on Western Michigan at AA this Saturday afternoon (1pm Eastern), and given the way they have played, I am really excited about this team. But this game carries a lot of significance to me because of who we are playing. I DESPISE Western Michigan, I absolutely abhor the broncos. You think I hate Toledo? That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of how much I hate WMU. First of all, they have the worst freaking color scheme in history, ugh, brown and burnt gold?! Secondly, those SOB's had the audacity to take out Omar Jacobs on parent weekend and single-handedly cost us the MAC Championship in football. (Would've beaten WMU and would have beaten Akron the next week had Omar played). Thirdly, their pathetic (3-12-1 at the time) hockey team comes into the Ice Arena a few weeks back and shocks us there too. I'm sick of their bullshit! I want our Women's B-ballers to absolutely beat the living crap out of the Broncos on Saturday, and I WILL be in the first row to see it happen.

Well, WMU has already beaten us in football and men's basketball this year, so let's get them in women's hoops.

...and hockey. :(
I am definitely thinking I will be there for this one. Directional Michigan schools are on my sh*t-list for all sports.

We will destroy WMU. Especially after Liz gets her 998th, 999th, and 1,000th points on the first shot of the game :) Let's get a big crowd there to congratulate her and the team.

ZiggyZoomba, Mrs. ZiggyZoomba and a Zoomba-friend will be in attendance! Can't wait to see the ladies kick some AZZ!! (The potential for some parentalZoombas to be there is also relatively high...)

I wouldn't say that....they are probably one of the better teams along with us and Kent in the MAC.

Eh, call it a rare indulgence in optimism. Western is a solid team and has played a very tough schedule. But they are 6-10 overall, and definitely not in the top tier with KSU, EMU, and BG IMO.

My prediction is based off of two things mainly, neither of which has anything to do with WMU. The coaches are going to be downright mean after the CMU game, and the ladies will be very ready (as long as there is no looking ahead to EMU). Number 2 is the team will get fired up after Liz gets to 1,000, and Western (2-5 on the road) will have a very difficult time matching our energy and competing with the crowd. I see another 15-20 point victory.

possibly playing with Carin could be an issue too....but atleast u got Casey stepping in at the 2, sliding Megan to the 3...shouldn't be too much adjustment there

We shouldn't discount WMU.....

At all. They can score some points its appears. We will have to play some very good D to win this. The're in 2nd in the MAC west div. right now. We had a tough game from a lowley Central team last Wed. so I think the West Div. is a tough Div. I think Liz slowed her scoring down so she could go over 1,000 here at home , so it kinda all worked out. :)

WMU is definitely a good offensive club, but I think we're a better defensive club. WMU does have 3 of the top 6 scorers in the MAC, but I really doubt if they can match our intensity for 40 minutes. I have a feeling that we are going to jump out to double-digit first half lead and then clamp down on defense.

Very few have come into AA and left with a victory the last few years. The only teams in the MAC that I think have a decent shot at AA are KSU and EMU. Of course any team can beat any other team, I just don't think it's very likely.

See you all at AA on Saturday!

Throughout today, I've been making my rounds through Harshman-Dunbar hyping up tomorrow's game vs WMU. I'm ready for this one, and I'm gonna be bringing some peeps along for once. My hope would be that my whole floor is gonna show up, and usually we do pretty well for these afternoon starts, because we're honors kids, we don't drink and do stupid stuff that makes us sleep till 3pm the next day, IMO.

I'm revved up, unlike for any game this season except Toledo vs BG in football.
