I'm revved up, unlike for any game this season except Toledo vs BG in football.

DEATH TO THE BRONCOS!!!

wow...bgsufalcon24, youre actually gonna be at a game, congrats for finally seeing the light, for once i dont have to convince you to come to AA, good job on taking the initiative this time...
I'm not missing another women's game the rest of the year. The guys, well, I really could care less about them. I will be at tomorrow's game vs Akron, but a loss there and that just might be it. I really think we need to fire Dakich if we are to ever get good at men's basketball again.

see, you dont know what youre talking about, the reason behind us not being very good the oast few years is not because of dakich not being able to coach or recruit, the problem has been that a lot of players have transferred, most of that has to do with our lack of sex appeal for our sports facilities, take ron lewis. he was at BG but transferred to OSU. we need new facilities not neccessarily a new coach. Now im not saying taht DD is Coach K but hes not that bad

The men's team just beat Kent State and has shown improvement this season. They hustle on every play and give it their all. Yeah being undefeated is great but geez give me a break. Some of you don't know what good basketball is. Just to give up on a team is pathetic. Please don't jump on the bandwagon when the Men's team starts putting some wins togther like the women's team has done.

i agree completely, i have gone to every game i can get to, something i cant say for some people, but thats nor here nor there, the problem is that people see how well the womens team is doing well and because the mens team isnt doing as well they dont support them. another problem is that we cant get people in the seats. i guarantee you if we can improve the attendance (im not saying sell out, although that would be nice) to a point where some teams become uneasy coming here, i mean there were probably less than 1,000 students at the buffalo game and we almost won...ill be will to bet if you all come out an go to the games, you will see a better team on the floor. this team plays its heart out, now its our turn to support that!

I agree as well. I posted a week and a half ago not to throw in the towel on the men's team jsut because they struggled in the beginning of the year. Well, that win AT KENT STATE could be the shot in the arm the propels this team to a heck of a finish. They aren't the most talented team but their heart and determination are second to none. I can't wait to get to AA next Saturday to see them take out the Bobcats.

It is NOT because the women are winning!! We had LESS than 1000 at the womens game vs WMU yesterday, and the STUDENTS were noticably MISSING!!
I am very tired of students complaining about the local BG population not supporting BG athletics, while their support is almost nil. The ones that do show are very good, all couple hundred of them, but we have 18,000 students!!

Absolutely. I was ticked off at the lack of student support yesterday. I don't get it, we have a team that is 15-2 playing against a fairly strong team in WMU, and none of the students show up. The crowd was about as loud as the road from BG to Pemberville at nighttime. Of course, most students will fall back on the excuse of partying friday night and not being able to get up before noon to get to the game. That's a load of BS.

But I know a way we can eliminate that excuse. I think the Women's basketball team ought to do what the football team has done. Instead of playing at 1, play home games at 4pm. I bet you that if our football home games were at 1 instead of 4, our attendance wouldn't have been nearly as good as it was (excluding the game vs Akron when everybody gave up on the team thanks to Omar's injury). It's sad that it has come to this though. What is it going to take to get students in the seats?!

Student attendance was pathetic!! The box score attendance was 955. Come on , we had 1,667 for Miami Redhawks who arent' as good as WMU is right now. I wonder if Hockey on the road at Lake Superior hurt our attendane. We have these extremely zealous old folk hockey fans who will forsake a home basketball game men or women for a long 2 day road trip to the upper peninsual of Michigan to watch us lose again. Its ridculous!! I dont' have anything against the hockey team but we got a freakin' 16-2 and 6-0 in Mac ladies team at home vs the West div. 2nd place team in WMU. What gives here??? It burns me to no end. :(

I dont' know of moving games to 4 pm would help not , wouldn't hurt probably. Moving them to 4 on Saturdays still leaves time for people to get to the Ice Arena when Falcon Hockey plays at home. There's no college or NFL football on anymore what else is there to watch on tv besides basketball anyway?

Yes how dare are fans support a team that didn't win. What gives. Jump on the bandwagon, just be sure to jump off and begin criticising the players and coaches of a game you can't even play at this level as quickly as they lose. I mean who cares if they don't even like basketball, they should support the winning team. Who gives a f**k which sport someone supports. All the athletes are BG students, unlike you. Seriously a college education would do wonders for you. You are also apparently not aware that many people consider Miami more of a rival, and there are probably more Miami fans in the area.

Its great to see a lot of people there, but quit complaing about attendance. Its old. No need to blame hockey fans or who ever. You have made the decision to support the women's team. Seeing as it is 2:20 and you're online, I'm assuming you going to go for the 2nd half of the men's game. Why are you sacrificing the men to support the women. Oh thats right, its called a decision. You are yelling at people for supporting one sport over another when you do the same thing. How dumb can you get.

Dude if you didn' read my post so fast you would seen that I'm mainly upset at BGSU STUDENT attendance who if you have forgotten can get in for FREE! What else is there to do on a Sat afternoon when ther'es no longer any college or NFL football on tv except the Super Bowl next Sunday? Thats just my take. And BTW I'm not sacrificing support of men for the women, just the 1st half of games for the men. I'm stilll surprised I even want to go this game at halftime since we got Lebron and Co. on tv right now playing the Suns. I could be home right now relaxing and watch the amazing Lebron who I havent gotten to see play much on tv , instead I atleast will be at the game for at least the more important part of the game , the final 20 minutes. If you can't understand that, then well whatever.

OH really. Your half time support does nothing for raising money for the team or attendance figures. You have jumped on the women's team because they began a winning last year. So yes you are sacrifing the men to an extent.

Actually there's a little more too than just the paying $9 bucks thing. I dont' think I can watch 2 whole halves of what we play anymore. 3 minutest of dribbling around the perimeter , pass , pass , dribble some more , pass and then pass again , dribble , pass dribble , pass, dribble. Need I say more. Like I said before I wonder why I still want to watch this game. The ladies play uptempo , exciting , basketball. Lately, watching the men has been like watching paint dry. Sorry, thats just way I feel. If you been to a game lately you might have an idea what I'm talking about , but since you live in Kentucky obviously ther'es no way you'd know.

Then don't go to the games. Because you do not provide support.

I do provide support. When I do get to the game at the half , I'm yelling and cheering as louds as the rest of the ones who are there. Problem is ther's alot of people who have paid their $9 bucks but who are the most docile fans you'll ever see. They sit on their butt the entire game and do not move at all. I wonder sometimes if these people who've paid should be there cuz they don't act excited , cheer , get loud when everyone else does or anything. So don't lecture me about support until you come down to a game and examine for yourself. :?
