OSU defense

Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.

OSU defense

Post by tekekini »

For those of you who were worried about OSU's defense they just signed another 5 star linebacker today. They now have like 3 or 4 5 star defensive players. 3 of which are for sure in school already or will be in spring and will be participating in spring drills and will more than likely be ready to go by beginning of season. Chris Wells is going to be in town starting tomorrow (5 star running back)

They now have I think 4 big time linebackers 2 big time DE's (both may be 5 stars? 4 stars for sure and they make up 2 of the for sure in classes this spring). Jenkins, jamrio o'neal in the backfield and they have a 5 star DB recruit who may see a lot of playing time.

I think they will be OK. Hell of a defensive class at OSU this year

Just thought I would put your worries to rest.

Carry on

Is he qualified? Serious question. I thought there were issues with his test scores or grades.

I should probably start a new topic about this, but I'll just jack this Buckeye thread......is it just a recent trend or have high school seniors been graduating early to participate in spring drills throughout the history of college ball (or at least as far back as spring ball goes)? Obviously, BG had Devon Parks, but it seems like the Destroyers have had quite a few recently. I think the most notable was Clarett (correct me if I'm wrong). I think Jarrett at USC was in the same boat. How often is this happening and how long has it been going on?

The interesting thing about the *****linebacker is that if you go back 4-5 years ago, Mr, Hawk, was the least touted of the group that they signed then. I can't tell you the number of stars , but he was about the third or fourth rated of the group they signed. I don't put much stock in *'s as far as the final result.

Hawk was only a 3 star guy way back when. I have heard since then that a lot of that was because he was injured his senior year in HS. Still OSU was his only major college offer and I remember a number of Buckeye fans complaining at the time that they couldn't figure out why they'd offer that kid.

Ahh internet recruiting gurus :) Gotta love it!

You're right, the trend is to get a HS senior to enroll early. It helps, especially, if the school wants to sign more than 25 recruits. That recruit, if he enrolls early, will be counted against the scholarships of the previous year. Not to mention, the ability to pick up the system and practice in the spring with the regular players.

I really hope it's OK, but with the sudden offense showing, maybe being OK will work....
