Combining 2005 & 2006 Recruiting Classes

Post by Salsa »

2005-not including Luke Anderson (WR) and Nick Lawrence (LB), adding Kenny Lewis (DB)

As listed when recruited, there are 12 offensive players and 14 defensive players remaining from this class, unless some others have left.

2006-counting Ellis (K) as an offensive player and Rojas (P) as a defensive player.

As listed when recruited, there were 10 offensive players and 13 defensive players.

2005-2006 combined--22 offensive players and 27 defensive players

So, we clearly have a larger number of defensive players to help us next year.

In his comments about the 2006 class, Coach Brandon said we only recruited 1 OL because we are well stocked at that position. And surely he must feel we have a good group of returning and incoming receivers or he would have recruited more. He did bring in 3 new receivers. Both Pronty and Brighton were offered early so the staff must feel they have good potential.

I think that looking at the 2005 and 2006 recruiting classes, we should have a significant number of newer players who will contribute next year.

And remember that we have Macon (RB) coming back. Does anyone know if Nick Lawrence (LB) will be on the team?

Lawrence was on the team last year. #52. I'm not sure if he was given his scholarship back last year after his off-the-field problems, though.

He did not have a scholarship last season. He played as a walk-on.
