To be honest after that basketball game earlier I was exhausted and hardly had the energy to stay at the hockey game, especially since the rest of the crowd was also lifeless. However Horrell's amazing 1 on 1 save at the end of the game brought it all back to life. Too bad we can't have him for just another year or two!

For those of you who were at the game, that goofy looking tall kid who took the shot from center ice during the first intermission:
<-- this guy
:D
Hell of a game, too bad it was as close as it was, but enjoyable, nonetheless.
I also got a few pictures (more to follow), which you can check out here:
http://community.webshots.com/album/547131128SVnGfQ
You'll notice one is called "Douchebag of the Year"... Don't know if anyone else was close enough to see it, but a puck came into the stands at the end of the second period, nearly hit a little girl in the face, and then that guy wrestled it away from three 8 year old kids. Not cool.
The good news was, when they started playing that "HEY!" song at the end, most of the student section pointed to him when they (unfortunately) added "YOU SUCK!".

Thank you, Peregrinner, for the pictures! I can't tell you how valuable it is for fans and alumni (like me!) to be able to see pictures from the games! I think you took and posted pictures from a recent game, too - I just want to not only say thank you, but also to encourage you to keep doing this! I love seeing game pictues! Once you listen to the game on the radio, it is really, really cool to be able to see the stills from the game.

Many thanks, and GO FALCONS!!!!!

I have a personal rule about giving pucks to little kids.

99% of the time if I get a puck, I will give it to a little kid. I'll never race a kid to a puck, but if I catch it, I will hand it over.

The 1% of the time I don't is if the puck comes directly to me (like it lands in my lap) and some little kid literally crawls on me or jumps on my back to try to get the puck away from me. This has actually happened more than once and my feeling is that if you don't have the sense to know that jumping on my back is discourteous, then you don't deserve a puck.

But fighting off three eight-year olds is just a jackbag move.

Yeah, the guy was red in the face from fighting so hard. Prick. Plain and simple.

Awesome Pics, Pergrinner!!!! In the pic titled "Center Ice" you can see Falconfreak with his hands up in the air clapping. He is standing up just above the left corner of the chair section, blue jeans, orange shirt. You can't see us as well, but BGFan is to his left and I am next BGFan. And sorry I missed seeing you take the center ice shot, went to the Falcon Club lounge to have a beverage! You should have had a friend take a picture of you out at center ice!!!!

SWEEEEEP THE NANOOKS!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I have a couple, my family came up for the game, so I had an extra person to take some pictures. Unfortunately, though, my dad doesn't understand the zoom on my camera, so I had to so a little photosurgery.
There are a few of me on there now, though, as well as a few more than when I originally posted.

When I got to my usual seat down in the corner in front of the band, there was a puck just lying underneath one of the benches. We thought it was strange that no one had jumped on it and claimed it, but no one did so I took it. I hope some little kid wasn't running around looking for it...

You got some great action pictures! Very cool. We were trying to help you on the Foster question but you didn't listen  . But it was so much more a dramatic a shot from center ice!!!!! Nice work. What did you win?

My husband got a puck last game and gave it to the little girl that sits down in front of us every game. He had to promise the littler brother that he got the next one. It was so cute when a puck came close by but not close enough. The little boy turned around to the husband and loked at him like "Hey mister, get with it there, I need my puck." There's always something to keep you interested at a hockey game!

I actually said "assists" before he even gave me the options... I should've known to go with my gut, but instead i got to thinking (which is never good  ).
I agree, though, it was so much better from center ice. =)
I half expected to get booed off the ice (considering I've offended a significant portion of the student section) but everything went better than expected.
I won a t-shirt and the highlights DVD from the '03-'04 and '04-'05 seasons.

A win is a win...and now I'm 2-0 at the IA this season....soon to be 3-0 after we beat ND on 2/18.

It was not the most exciting game but getting the winning goal with less than a minute left was fun.

FF, thanks for the ticket!! Will see you guys in 2 weeks. A triple header with men's and women's hoops and hockey...whoa.

I WISH I could go to the hockey game that night, but I have to work and I've called off my last two Saturday shifts for hockey (UM and RIT), and don't really want to get fired.
I'll be there for the basketball games though!
