2-2 midway through the third... NOT the result we were all expecting. We're even outshooting them 35-20!!!! (Those who still don't believe the "hot goalie" line of thinking, please stand up.)

Yeah, that was one hell of a hot goalie! I didn't hear the last half of the third, but at least we pulled the game out. Too bad Bob couldn't get some time tonight...

yeah matsu had the game winner with 45 ticks to go...we dominated that entire game except for some defensive lapses, but horrell was amazing tonight. their goalie was just as good if not better...he was like a brick wall tonight, the only way we could score on him was top shelf...great win boys!!! go get us some points up in alaska

Um, I don't know what game you were watching tonight, but that was not a dominating effort by BG. Yes, we controlled a good share of the game, but it was by no means domination. We struggled many times and had a lot more icings than they did. RIT is not a horrible team, but with the talent we have, we should have not had as much trouble as we did.

The first goal was tipped in by their defenseman about a foot off the ice. If he didn't tip it, Svendson was going to bury it anyways. I didn't see Svendson's shorty, but Matsu's game winner was slid in on the ice. He came across the crease and managed to reach just beyond the goalie's outstretched leg to put the puck in the back of the net. The goalie was mad at that one and actually broke his stick over the net while BG was celebrating.

It was a good win because we won a close game in the final minute. We never gave up and fought to the end. Poor decisions and lack of motivation cost us a couple times tonight. Paluch was extremely upset at Foster and Matsumoto on RIT's shorthanded goal. They took their time getting back and RIT ended up with a 3 on 2 in our zone. Personally, I would have benched them for about half a period just to send a message to everybody that we are here to play, not coast through games.

Good analysis. I thought it was an ugly win, but I'm very happy with it, even it if wasn't our best game. Can't believe we let ANOTHER shorthanded goal in....how many does that make this year....it HAS to be a school record and not one that we want to have!! GRRR!!! RIT played well defensively, as did their goalie!!! Without that goalie, it would have been a much different game, even with us giving up another shorty  .

On to Alaska!! LOOOONG road trip for the boys!!
GO ICERS!!
SWEEEEEEEP THE NANOOKS!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
