Post by BGSU33 »

Down 15 and they come back and win, on the road. Wish this kid of karma could rub off on another team on campus. Anyway, great win. Okay, now I'm ready for the Supr Bowl.

That was way too much excitement for me. But it proved we could fight our way back. Better now than the big dance!

Just got done watching on FSO...man, I was a wreck for the entire game. This team just refuses to lose. That 5th foul on Ali was total BS. Please.

Carin Horne with THEE shot of the game. BO, I do love beating UT. I told Josh on the way home from church I don't care if it's Chinese Checkers....beat UT in anything and everything. BG has now won 6 straight over the hated rockettes.

WAY TO GO, LADIES!!!!!

18-2, 9-0....unreal. Falcons host NIU this Wed.

GO FALCONS!!!

What makes BG winning even more fun, is that the rockettes are sliding further and further down the ladder. I could deal with losing to a rival when it was the early 90s and BG wound up winning it all in the end. But the typically holier-than-thou BS from UT fans as their team had a few good years. I'm not sure I dislike a UT team more, or enjoy seeing one lose as much as their women's team.

Oddly, I'm seeing the numbers of fans going to BG women's basketball start to look like they did compared to the men's team in the early 90s as well. At least the men could defend their home court back then. I think my daughter is about old enough to enjoy a home game by next season.

I was also watching the game on tv. I told my father to watch the game to see how great of a team we are and at halftime he called me and said "so this team is great huh?" I told him to calm down and that we just weren't shooting well but we'll pick it up in the 2nd half. I'm glad we came back and that was a heck of a win.
GO BG!!

the commentators made a remark about ehlen saying that (more or less) bg is where ut was a few years ago. it seems that he just can't stand that bg has returned to prominence.
i didn't see the news. did he throw another temper tantrum is the post game press conference, and insist that UT is every bit as good as BG right now?

He opted out of the press conference in favor of a waxing appointment.

That was a fantastic comeback. Our defense for 3/4 of the game was the worst it's been all year. Luckily our offense was able to come around, stop shooting so many damn threes, and start pounding them inside. Horne rebounded nicely from her worst half of the season and Achter settled down in the second half as well.

You could really see all the leadership on the court in the second half. This team is filled with great leaders and confident people. We are going to be tough to beat. Time to pack the house again for Northern on Wednesday. They're the only team in the MAC we don't have a winning record against (10-10 I believe), plus we need to pay them back for the epic loss they handed us at AA. Time to get loud and smack the makeup right off the faces of raymond and the rest of those NIU Jezebels.

Agreed. That foul was very petty.

Great win though, Carin's three at the end sealed the deal.

Tje officials were so used to calling nothing against UT that at the end of the game when they needed to foul, they wouldn't call it. Finally Bishop had to make her 5th foul to stop the clock.

Also, I must say that Ehlen surprised me with the comments he made about BG. He jokingly asked if the juniors on our team couldn't all leave early for the pros. He also said that he knew at the half that BG would make a run. I was expecting the sort of things he said last year, but he was very complimentary.

good for him. i know i made a snide remark earlier, but i still respect ehlen and what he's done at ut. he and bob lindsay are both very good coaches who have had a great deal of success and therefore brought some more attention to mac women's basketball.

per the "Notes" part of (I think) the pregame article for Toledo on BGSUFalcons.com, we have a winning record against every other team in the MAC now. (*edit - we are even with NIU) .

Here is the quote:
THE FALCONS VS. THE MAC
The Falcons have a proud history in the MAC ... BGSU leads the all-time series with 10 of the 11 MAC opponents, and the Falcons evened the series with that 11th team, with a win at Northern Illinois in the teams' last meeting (March 1, 2005) ... BG is the only team in the league with at least a .500 mark against every other MAC school.
