Part II: AGE THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL CONFERENCES

That turned out pretty good, thanks for participating, but my hidden message behind this poll was to find out; "why are we (MAC) still considered one of the weakest conferences in college football? Why did the elite seven come to be?

I talked to a Big 10 fan the other day just to PRICK is brain (and yes, he is a prick, literally) to find out his stance on why the MAC and the other 4 weak conferences can never win a BCS bowl game. His reasoning was so naive and child-like it was laughable (the sad part is that his stance was partially true). This guy said that no kid with any talent wants to go to the MAC to play football because he knows that he wouldn't ever get a shot at a National Championship playing for a sub-par conference team. I then asked why, and his reply was "tradition" and tradition only. WHAT????? was my reply.

It is recruiting and the only reason it is recruiting is because of money, funding and facilities which are all intertwined. There are other factors too, like the university Presidents not wanting a playoff, but that's another subject I won't dare jump into. Sharing of $5.5 million amongst 5 conferences won't yield top quality high school students (the MAC got lucky with Ben Rothy, Chad p, Dante Culpep, and Randy Moss) compared to the elite 6 (you all know em') that shares over $119 Million to divide (win or lose, bowl games). Oh yeah, not to mention Notre Dame, which is the only indepedant that falls into the elite 6 group, soley because of their deal with NBC. Hmmmmmm! How did this come to be? What are you guys' thoughts on this one.
