BG goals against problems

Post by dannyk »

With 117 goals against BG is second in the nation behind Western who has given up 121. There are only a handful of teams in all of DI that have given up 100 goals. On the flip side we are only one of a handful of teams that have scored 100. (106)

What seems to be the problem here? I know we play a somewhat run and gun style which accounts for some of this but usually it seems are goalies are playing pretty well.

When you look at a decent team like Lake St. and see they have only given up 60 goals this year almost half as many as BG, what does Pooch need to change? Or were we just that spoiled to have Sigalet, now with avg to decent goalies like everyone else we cant keep the puck out of the net with a swiss cheese defense, it seems are only chance is to try and out score better teams which we can do on occasion.

Insiders what are your thoughts?

Turning the puck over in the neutral zone seems to be a problem along with leaving our goalie out to dry.

I suggest that you compare the first half with the second half of the season. While not completely fixed, it hasn't been near as bad as it was at the beginning of the year.
