Bowling Green Future Football Schedules
Bowling Green Future Football Schedules
With future schedules being discussed on here, I thought I would post this for a topic as well. If Minnesota is coming to BG in 2008, then below is what I can piece together so far through 2010. I know we bumped our home-&-home series with Wyoming, but rumor was we would be adding it in the near future. I wonder if it's still going to be done? I hope so, but I see they just added home-&-home series with Virginia and Ohio over the next several years. If anyone has anything I am missing below, let me know and I'll add it.

Confirmation that the game is at the Doyt.

Under the new Big 10/MAC scheduling arrangement, perhaps we won't be playing at Minnesota in the future, but at a different Big 10 school? I assume part of the reason for the arrangement is flexibility in filling open dates, especially with the 12th game, for teams in both conferences.
I posted about this in another thread, but it seems strange that BG declined to comment further about the game. Maybe there is going to be more scheduling news coming out - how sweet would it be to have a Big 10 team showing up at the Doyt in 2007 as well? There's room on the schedule.....

That's a good point. In the past, you would have to almost assume we'd be going back to Minnesota at least once if not twice to get a home game like this, but maybe we will play somewhere else instead as part of this new agreement. You'd almost think that if they agreed to play at BG, that we could have agreed to a return trip in several years will the openings we have. So yeah, maybe something is up with that. I can't wait to see who else appears on our future schedule. But this game with Minnesota is an awesome addition in my opinion. I also hope our days of scheduling non D-I schools are over with the 12th game too.San Diego Falcon wrote:Under the new Big 10/MAC scheduling arrangement, perhaps we won't be playing at Minnesota in the future, but at a different Big 10 school?

I would not be at all surprised to see the MAC begin to schedule more games, including home games, with the Big East. The MAC and Big East have shown signs of a willingness to cooperate.
Given its current membership of only 8 teams, the Big East needs to schedule several out of conference games, and even more so with the move to a 12 game schedule. Loading up with 1AA teams will not help the Big East achieve high rankings in its efforts to maintain BCS status.
I'd love to see BG play a home game with West Virginia. In the back of my mind, though, it seems there is previous statement or other fact that makes this unlikely. I think WVU would be a big draw, but I'm not sure that any other Big East team would help us fill the Doyt, maybe Pittsburgh. The attendance in a home game with Pittsburgh not long ago, however, was very disappointing.
I suppose we'll keep the 2007 game with Arizona State. But we are probably coming to the end of games in the far West unless there is a return game at the Doyt.
I think the MAC is in a very good position to improve its scheduling with games against the Big 10 and the Big East.
