Jim Tressel at Terra Community College Today...
...and so am I.
I'm at Terra Community College until 7:00 PM this evening and the head coach of THE Columbus Community College is going to be here sometime today. My table is set-up right next to the room he is supposed to be speaking in,
Wish I had known he was going to be here today. I might have brought my Freddie Falcon and put him on the table.

By "community college" you must mean "university with world class graduate, professional, and law programs"transfer2BGSU wrote:...and so am I.

No, I don't think Terra has a law school....BGSUfalcons wrote:By "community college" you must mean "university with world class graduate, professional, and law programs"transfer2BGSU wrote:...and so am I.

No. Because then we would have to listen to Touchdown Rockettes and H20ville Rockette talk about TU and I don't wish to muddy the waters anymore.BGSUfalcons wrote:By "community college" you must mean "university with world class graduate, professional, and law programs"

It's sad some of you feel the need to take a shot at OSU every time they get brought up.I'm at Terra Community College until 7:00 PM this evening and the head coach of THE Columbus Community College is going to be here sometime today. Oh come on now. We play them this fall. It would have been fun to joke with the coach some. Geez -Sweets9 wrote:It's sad some of you feel the need to take a shot at OSU every time they get brought up.
Actually, I ended up leaving early this evening. They had a LARGE crowd (my guess-timate would be over 250+ checked in and were expecting more). The students were not coming into the building where I was located (probably due to the large crowd in the lobby). So I did not get to see Coach Tressell.

It's actually the Franklin County Community College for the Criminally Inane.

I'm great at taking jokes. I just don't see why everytime they're brought up on here people take shots at them. Just makes us look like we have the worst case of "small man's syndrome" in Ohio.
It's not like we have a lot to brag about over OSU anyways. OSU is traditionally considered a much better school than BGSU, they have an unbelievable athletic tradition and while they were a joke with football players in the John Cooper era, they're nearing the top in the last 4-5 years in the Big 10 academically. They've had a rediculous amount of academic all-big 10 guys recently and I read in the DDN recently the team GPA has risen every year Tressel has been at the helm.
We take shots yet our coach brags about the "student athletes" we're bringing in on the football team (I've said since signing day the talent was second to none in the MAC) because they have a average 2.9 GPA and a 900 SAT. That's not good.
Thank god we do a great job of keeping them on task and getting them through school, because we're not exactly bringing in Rhodes Scholars.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not out to defend OSU and call them the mecca of college football, they certainly have many problems, I just don't see why we have to take shots at OSU or any Big Ten schools when we have Toledo just up the road. Makes us look bad, IMO.

We take shots at OSU because this is the BGSU Sports board. If we wanted to have a circle jerk over Brutus we'd go over to bucknuts or JJhuddle. There's a history academically between BG and OSU and the relationship has never been that good.

To elaborate on this just a little bit, OSU did not become the "premier" institution in the state by playing nice-nice with all of the other state schools. Far from it.BGDrew wrote:We take shots at OSU because this is the BGSU Sports board. If we wanted to have a circle jerk over Brutus we'd go over to bucknuts or JJhuddle. Some of you need to realize that there is much more to the politics of education than sports.
