I couldn't really care about where OSU finished, however I do think it's a little ridiculous that some BG fans will go out of their way to defend OSU and in essence cheapen the accomplishment that BG has made year in and year out in these scholastic categories. Maybe I'm just grouchy though cuz it's Monday!
Bourbon, a certain poster in this thread is not a BG fan although he holds a degree from our beloved University. Sad - ridiculous even - but true.

This is a major accomplishment for Bowling Green State University both on the part of the Athletic Department and the Office of the Provost. No one can marginalize it no matter how much they may want to.

Why would you bother graduating from a place you don't like?

Some defend OSU because many on here like to take petty shots at OSU. I'm a BGSU fan first and foremost, but that doesn't mean I should appreciate the anti-OSU b.s. that is spewed on this board. Now, anti-Toledo stuff is another thing entirely, but then again, anti-Toledo stuff isn't b.s.

There's a lot more history between BG and OSU than just sport records.

Exactly, You have hit the exact reason why i started posting so many pro OSU threads. I used to read this site for months before i registwred and starting posting. These people take shots at OSU for no reason. There werent people from OSU on here causing trouble at the time either. It was all unnecessary. So i decided to post mostly pro OSU.

Bleeding Orange is wrong though, I do Like BG i do root for them, I disagree with all the petty shots at OSU for no reason.

I don't believe that there is a case where the rooting or admiration for OSU would mean that there was no love for BGSU.

There is more to love about BGSU than just their sports teams.

With that said, however, I would hope that the love for BGSU would easily surpass the love for any other institution because BGSU is your alma mater. If OSU and BG were to play, all dedication for OSU SHOULD be thrown out of the window. Rooting for OSU and not BGSU is wishing failure upon your fellow students and alumni and that, I'm afraid, is an unacceptable philophy in my mind.

I don't root for nor against OSU. Why? I didn't go to school there and thus I don't care.
Do I take the occassional swipe at them? Ya, sure. But only because they make for an easy target.

The problem I have with some of the posts on here is that by coming up with reasons to why OSU might be so low is in essence saying that BG's high academic standing really isn't valid. Whether or not the things mentioned as excuses for OSU not being so high are warranted or not, coming from a BG fan site is kind of absurd. Of course i could be wrong too..maybe i'm just overreacting
