This one was over in the first 10 minutes. Falcons raced out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back. Carin Horne had the hot hand tonight with 20 and it was great to see so many reserves see a good amount of action. I was really happy to see Jill Lause get some quality time and she responded with 8 points. The starters basically sat out the last 10 minutes of the game and even though it got a bit sloppy, the reserves played hard and took it to the Zips. I think we are gonna be just fine when these Juniors depart after next season. Coach Miller and staff's recruiting has been outstanding.
Our defense tonight was SWARMING...Akron had very few good looks. Ali Mann scored 4 points tonight...that just doesn't happen and yet the ladies won by 32. Liz Honegger had 13 points and must have blocked at least 4 shots. Jasmine McCall...wow...she is gonna be something special. She has serious quickness. Amber Flynn is turning into a very solid player and scored 14 tonight. Lindsey Goldsberry and Whitney Taylor both hit a couple of treys as well. Great passing tonight from the whole team and the ball movement was excellent. They basically ran the Zips ragged.
A good contingent of Orange and Brown at the game...great times and a BiG win! Good seeing JohnnySwoop85 and his son there.
BTW, Zippy the Kangaroo was dancing to Michael Jackson's Thriller during a timeout and Coach Miller, yes, our Coach Miller, started dancing a bit & laughing in the huddle. You know it was a great effort when Coach starts dancing.
