Turner already getting scrutinized

There are some people making judgements about Turner that don't know if a football is "pumped" or "stuffed"!!!

The bottom line is, Turner is going to have to prove and earn everything next year - the same thing our team in going to have to do. A lot of people felt Omar was a big part of why we were good (or supposed to be good), and he was just one of 85 scholarship players on our team last season. No doubt, Omar was a huge key to our team, but he played just one position. When we had him, we looked pretty good. But without him, we looked very average, as did Turner. Sure Turner was young, but remember, he was playing with a lot talent around him last season to help him (offensively and defensively) that won’t be there next year either. So he’s going to have to step it up a whole other level next year, as well as the rest of our team to overcome our losses.

I do think we have a lot of potential and promise next year, but that’s what many said about our entire team last season and that led to a record of 6-5 which fell far under anyone’s expectations. But expectations and predictions mean nothing, its execution and getting it done when it matters that counts. That’s why a team like BG sat at home last season without a trip to the MACC or a bowl game, and a team like Akron won the MACC and went to a bowl. On paper in the preseason, nobody would have picked Akron to accomplish those things over BG, but not only did they do it, they also beat us on our home field in the process. When push came to shove, they got it done, and we didn’t. Turner and the entire team have got a lot to prove next season. And no matter what anyone predicts, the story will unfold on the field, not online.

Based on what I've seen of AT in high school, he is going to surprise a lot of people around here.

Well said, Falconz. AT is gonna be one heck of a QB. I can't wait to see him run the O full blown.

i agree, AT's career at BG started out just like Omar's. He was red-shirted, then was shaky when he did play in his freshman season...hopefully we will get big things outta AT in his sophmore season, but we must bring back the J5 offense rather than the O4 offense.

I remember that, but keep in mind our defense was so bad you couldn't tell which one it was either. I was equally pumped after the spring game but after watching a couple games in 2005 it was evident that poor defense made him look so good. Obviously much can be credited to him too...

Truthfully I don't know how good he is. I didn't expect much from him last year but I do now. It's his show now.
