When I am old and rich, I am going to donate a million dollars to the university under the understanding that they are to immediately allow that song to be played! Thats my dream!
Anyway, that one is not one to go to buddy about.....you gotta prolly go to Big Sid on that mother!

His freedom of speech went out the window when he voluntarily went to an extra-curricular activity and essentially "bought" a ticket. I will whole heartedly agree that students have been treated like crap like this year. I really feel like the U is doing nothing to bring the casual fan to games and get them involved. The Flock was a great idea, but just wasn't planned correctly.
Something that still sets me off to this day is the drummer playing the jackass part of the penalty chant. I thought the band wasn't allowed to swear while in uniform? All they're doing is just egging on the crowd more.
It's just been a rough year to be a student overall in my opinion. There has been a very noticeable shift from building a student section for each sport to getting more "money" seats filled. While I can see why, the athletic department also is going to realize we're going to have an Ice Arena that's sold out that barely makes a noise.

The student got kicked out for giving the middle finger with both hands. No where in the article did he say that's what he got kicked out for. He tries to sway the readers into believing his mouth got him into trouble when it really was his finger(s).
Go to any professional sporting event in the country and try to get away with foul language and flipping the bird. You won't last very long in your seat.
Go back to kindergarten with the legos and playdoh to learn this wonderful life lesson "Two wrongs don't make a right" - just because other people get away with these childish acts doesn't give you the right to act like a tool. Grow up. Maybe when you're attempting to get rich like you say is going to happen, when the boss asks you to go pick his lunch up give him the middle finger and see what happens.

You say it's been hard for us this year and we haven't been treated right? Well if you were at all the games Saturday you would know that the athletic official that kicked the student out of the hockey game on Saturday was the same official that came over to us at the basketball game and made these ladies move out of the student section. They tried putting tape to reserve their seats and he came over and made them move. Even Steven if you ask me.
That said, the students have fair warning before each game. If they don't comply then the university has every right to eject them. I suggest they try using some of the old cheers and creativity instead of foul language and gestures at the game.falcons86 wrote:That statement has been read before each hockey game since at least, the Michigan home and home series, maybe even the Western home and home series. How do I know? Because I'm the one who is reading it.
GO FALCONS!!!!!
The booing everytime one the the ND players touched the puck Saturday night was a good example of what can be done that is effective, funny, and not objectionable. More stuff like that and less crudeness will go a long way.
That was the funniest thing I have seen/heard at a game in a long time, if not ever. Props to whoever started that.BGFan wrote:[

They were warned and still did it. Sounds to me like they have a problem with authority.transfer2BGSU wrote:
The man who removed them was a University official. Before he removed anyone, he first came over to the area in which I was standing to warn us about our language. This was provoked after he heard some students yelling obscenities after a call with which they disagreed.

Just for everyones benefit, here's the statement that I read:
"The NCAA promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches,
and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants, and officials in a postive manner. Profanity, racial, or sexist
comments, and other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-
athletes, or coaches will not be tolerated and are GROUNDS FOR REMOVAL
FROM THE ARENA. Thank you in advance for your assistance in promoting
good sportsmanship."
Seems pretty clear to me.

Sorry if this is off topic, but please, PLEASE don't give the state another reason to cut funding for higher education. It is expensive enough already! Once they cut funding to Toledo, then goes OSU, Miami, Kent, and sure enough, BG. Dominoes. Don't go there, you don't know what kind of stunt those ignorant jerkoffs in the Ohio General Assembly might attempt next.Falcons4Life wrote:Being a dousche bag is supported by the government at least....hell...the state of Ohio pays the University of Toledo to try and teach 20,000 douschebags a year!!!

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Come to find out that I'm not getting there early enough to hear the announcement - evidently that is the first announcement she makes about 25 minutes before the game.always a falcon wrote:You must not be attending the women's games as your co-worker announces this basic thing before every women's basketball game.

Maybe these announcements need to be repeated at least once more during the games!! There are a LOT of people who don't get into the games until right around the start time or after (often traffic/parking related and/or lack of police helping that situation...but that's another b!tch thread...).transfer2BGSU wrote:Come to find out that I'm not getting there early enough to hear the announcement - evidently that is the first announcement she makes about 25 minutes before the game.always a falcon wrote:You must not be attending the women's games as your co-worker announces this basic thing before every women's basketball game.

Hey the kid who started the booing of O'neil would be me. I tried to start it on it Friday but he scored about 3 minutes into the game so I didn't see a point to continue. I yelled out to whoever would listen on saturday to boo him everytime he touched th puck and it caught on pretty well. I think giving the finger to the opposing team or player is wrong.........unless an oppossing player does soemthing to warrant it, but that is rare.

How about Greene or Ganzak Thursday night? They're two of the top D-Men in the league. Might be a good thing to try and get in there heads. Also remember that Miami has two of the best goaltenders in the country this year. Anything for them would be a great help.BGSU Crazy Fan 58 wrote:Hey the kid who started the booing of O'neil would be me.
