Transfers?

Post by Germainfitch1 »

Who exactly have been the transfers/quitters/kicked offers/nonqualifiers, by year, since Dakich took over?
2006: Steven Wright
2005: Germain Fitch, Jeremy Holland (IUPUI), Ron Lewis (OSU), Scott Vandermeer (UIC)

Ray Austin
Reggie Harwell
Austin Montgomery (IUPUI)

Raheen Moss (Cleveland State)
Seth Doliboa (Wright State)

I had no idea he was playing here.

2002: Erik Crawford, Northern Iowa

I've watched a handful of Crawford's games. He sure would have been pretty good if he stayed at BG.

edit: this is under his profile:

Transferred to UNI because of its high reputation and the coaching staff.

Those were the reasons why he trasnferred TO Northern Iowa. From everything that I have read, he transferred AWAY from BG because he wanted to be closer to family. Who knows if he was unhappy with Coach Dakich, but I believe he, Vandermeer, and Holland were all in the same boat.

This is based on information that I researched from the official BGSU website about basketball signees:

Those in bold and underlined left the program early:

2000: Mattox, Almanson
2001: Crawford, Wilson, Petty, Eyink
2002: Lewis, Moss, Wright
2003: Harwell, Hobson, Montgomery, Rosefelt, Lefeld
2004: Vandermeer, Moon
2005: Holland, WilsonSullivan, Dusan, Marschall, Moten, Clements

Did Leon Petty ever join the program beyond signing his LOI as a HS student?

Don't know. I just found him by going through the archives. Probably was just like Holland. Signed his LOI then never showed up.

Actually, after a little research, Petty is a senior for Chicago St., but hasn't played at all this season.

Also, Petty was on the roster last season, but was ineligible.
