My original post was going to be “Glass Half Full or Half Empty”.
With the news of Wright leaving, I was going to view the situation with the Half Full approach. This is why:
· The season is a bust and so what if we lose a few more games.
· Wright is a third year player and his performance this year has been disappointing and will probably not get better next year. He is just an OK player with no leadership skills and is probably a negative in the locker room.
· Two freshmen are now presented with the opportunity to step it up. If successful they can carry the momentum into next year.
· The 2 guard is our deepest position.
· We now have an additional scholarship available for an inside player. Our thinnest position.
· Four solid new players coming in next year and maybe a fifth.
· Soler is the only player we loss next year.
· The team leader of the future has emerged this past two weeks, Erik Marschall. He should be a strong candidate for freshman of the Year.
The bottom line is, I choose not to whine & cry like many. I see a bright future.
