I pretty sure tricky had posted the other stuff about Wright as well. He had mentioned these conversations in the chat room and in the thread. It is hard for me to believe that these statements aren't true given his history of "I quit, I'm back, I quit" spells.BleedOrange wrote:Whoa, Tricky, is this really true? I don't like some of the other things I heard about Wright (if they are true), either. Someone had posted that Wright can't wait for the season to be over and was advertising the fact blatently. IF these things are true, this is pretty serious disrespect towards the team and himself.

I can't say that is a fact. Someone posted on here earlier today that when recruits came he was telling them that you don't want to play here. If that is true and I'm not saying that it is but if it were that would be the last straw. Him counting down the days until the season is over is a fact. I'm certain that part of the reason for him not being able to wait for the season to be over is because of the record but it just doesn't look good when one of the supposed leaders makes that remark.BleedOrange wrote:Whoa, Tricky, is this really true? It was quite possibly me who posted that. I have heard from a source that I trust very much that one reason why Tillman (Fr at OU) elected not to play here was because Wright was his shadow or whatever you call it on the recruiting trip. Apparently he told him that he shouldn't come here, because he wouldn't want to play for Dakich.Tricky_Falcon wrote:I can't say that is a fact. This is not fiirst hand info, it's purely a friend of a friend of a friend stuff, but I trust the source(s). Take it for what it's worth. With everything else we know about Wright's tenure here, I don't think it's that far fetched.

Re: Steven Wright Wants to Rejoin the Team?
I caught Wamer for about 10 minutes on the way home and heard the same thing. He also mentioned that they took Wright back after quitting last year despite Reimold and Almanson telling the coaches not to let him back on the team. I'm not sure what his sources were or how true any of it is, but that is what he was reporting on the radio.Redwingtom wrote:Norm Wamer on 1470 a few moments ago said the he heard that Wright wants to come back to the team ONCE AGAIN!!!
He also said that he has learned that Stan Joplin has already been told that he is not going to be coaching the rockets next year.
Everything else Wamer said about the situation sounded like it came directly from some of these threads. He mentioned that BG fans are upset about all the transfers in recent years and they are not happy with the direction of the program. I believe he even mentioned that he was basing this on what he read on the BG fan website.

Say what you want about the Wammer, but he is well connected up there, so when he says stuff like the thing with Reimold, I'm fairly certain it's accurate.Goose wrote:I caught Wamer for about 10 minutes on the way home and heard the same thing. Agreed. If he says he's hearing things, that's probably what he's hearing. I'm not a huge fans of some of his opinions on games themselves, but he's usually right when he has this sort of "inside" info.Flipper wrote:Norm's mentioned this site on his show before.
Norm talks weekly with Dan on his show....even during the offseason. FWIW, Norm does not strike me as the kind of broadcaster who's going to pass on information that he's not entirely sure is correct. He's not that irresponsible.
Dan also declined to do yesterday's interview, I assume he didn't want to talk much about Wright.
Also, FWIW, when Norm said he was hearing that Stan was basically done, he also said that he was hearing that Dan is still secure.

Is it possible that Wright simply determined that Tillman would not be a good fit with Dakich? Maybe Wright did the program a favor by eliminating another future transfer?I have heard from a source that I trust very much that one reason why Tillman (Fr at OU) elected not to play here was because Wright was his shadow or whatever you call it on the recruiting trip. Possible, yes... But I find it unlikely that if that were the case, he would shed a negative light on DD and the program. There are other ways to discourage a recruit.San Diego Falcon wrote:Is it possible that Wright simply determined that Tillman would not be a good fit with Dakich? While that may be possible, I don't think you can possibly make that a positive. The players that are helping with the recruiting are supposed to help recruiting. It's not up to them whether or not somebody would be a good fit. If you've got a player actively hurting your recruiting then either that player has a problem, or there is a problem within your team.San Diego Falcon wrote:Is it possible that Wright simply determined that Tillman would not be a good fit with Dakich?
