I know the thought nauseates some people, but with the advent of the 12-game schedule, I'm moving toward supporting a 1-AA opponent. We can control the scheduling, it's a home game and it's a game we should (obviously) win. It's great to say we're playing Ohio State and Wisky (yes, I know that's technically a home game, but it's not at The Doyt), but what's that doing for building buzz for attending home games?always a falcon wrote:Remember, we were the last team in the nation to have a home game. Get us home early in the season in a pretty much win game, and start the attendance off right.
This is not a new idea, but I think it's worth repeating. A typical OOC schedule for BG could look like this ...
* Home game vs. I-AA opponent (@ The Doyt, early in the year)
* Top-tier BCS-conference team (i.e. Ohio State, for which we will not get a return home game)
* Mid- to lower-tier BCS-conference team (i.e. Indiana, for which we should get a return home game)
* Non-BCS conference team (Boise State, Memphis, for which we get a return home game)
