ZiggyZoomba wrote:Not 100% sure. There had been a few weird errors the past couple days... the forums portion of the website is based on technology that pulls information (images, text, counters, etc...) from a mySQL database, and the errors were consistent w/ something funky happening in the DB.

So, this morning, I decided to take the forums down and run a DB backup, and then do an integrity check/repair on the mySQL database. That all went fine... so, I took it up a notch. LOL... we'd been running version 2.0.17 and 2.0.19 was available, so I figured while I had the forums down, I'd upgrade the system. I'd done it lots of times in the past and it always came off w/o a hitch.

Well, today, there was a hitch. Everything copied over fine, but when I ran the scripts to update the dabatase schema, it crapped out and threw flags up all over the place. Well, I tried everything all over again and had the same result. I had to go to the dentist, and then had several appointments...

Got home tonight, wiped out the entire directory on the server, uploaded the latest full-version of phpBB, copied over the ay-ziggy-zoomba.com template and imported the database I had backed up prior this morning, ran the update script on the DB to make the schema compatible and stuff started working...with the few minor exceptions noted above.

Probably way more information than you wanted to know... but hey, you asked!
I am not at all ashamed to admit that I did not understand a single word of these ramblings. I think Grant has begun speaking in tongues and that it may, in fact, be time to put him down for the good of humanity. I could be wrong, though...

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

If you are around somewhere and want your old avatar back, at least I think its yours, I have a copy of it b/c I used it to design my new tattoo.

Nah, it was time for a change. I should tell you that falcon was kind of doctored a bit. The beak/talons being colored orange was not part of the original design. See BleedingOrange's avatar for the original old-school falcon.

So Niz is getting a tattoo of a box with a red X in it?

That's unique. :P
